  1. Thanks Arun. We have to be careful in respect to what we quote. Surely quite a difference between an A4 and an e-Tron. Shame the OP hasn’t returned to view the responses and give us some clarification. Kind regards, Gareth.
  2. Great John. Glad the forum was able to help, and save you the cost of fruitlessly renewing the water pump. Kind regards, Gareth.

    Not bad!-?
  4. Hello John, Sorry to hear of your issue, and I feel it might be beneficial to step back and give this another coat of thinking about before taking any action which might result in unnecessary expense. When you say you have checked for head gasket issues and ‘and am receiving no signs’, have you taken the car on a c10 mile run to make sure both coolant and oil are up to operating temperatures, then park the car with the engine running and getting an assistant to rev. the engine at a steady 2,000 rpm for 2 minutes while you observe the exhaust smoke - looking for white water vapour smoke? That’s a free, and progressive test. For the relatively small cost involved, it’s worth renewing the coolant reservoir top, since these sometimes can give rise to such issues. Are you sure you are not seeing any external evidence of coolant stain residue? If the above fails to reap meaningful progress then if it were mine, I would be next considering having the coolant system pressure tested, before considering changing any components deemed to be possible suspects. Perhaps you Luke let us know how you get on John. Kind regards, Gareth.
  5. Hello Arun, Thanks for joining and for the burst of replies to posts in such a short space of time - indeed, in this case before the OP has returned to the forum to respond to some necessary clarification. You are indeed ahead by stating the ‘owners manual says….’ which I take it you have sight of -? I could be wrong, but my belief is that in recent years, recommended tyre pressures are displayed on sticker on the car rather than within the handbook, but… I think the forum can only respond once we have confirmation from the OP, that the tyres fitted to his car, are indeed a correct option size. I notice you are in the U.K. Arun, but rather confusing that you are using the American spelling of ‘tire’ rather than our tyre. Any particular reason? Kind regards, Gareth.
  6. Hello Neil, Sorry about being pedantic, but when you say ‘For my tyre size…’ could you confirm that is indeed for listed 245/35/19 and not just for some other 19 tyre? As you will appreciate, 35 profile tyres are an extremely low profile, so may well need that high tyre pressure. If however everything is correct in terms of exact tyre size and psi , all I can add is that this car is going to ride as if it’s on solid tyres! Perhaps you an come back to us Neil. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. XL tyres?
  7. Could you perhaps first do us a kindness and complete your profile properly?
  8. Hello Mark, Welcome. Have you got the same problem? Kind regards, Gareth.
  9. Welcome Jim. Hope we can be of some help if you need us at any time. Enjoy the Q5. Kind regards, Gareth.
  10. Two threads Steve - same question!! Kind regards, Gareth.
  11. Hello Avinash, Buying second hand?? I wouldn’t, even if I could find one. Probable solution:- Do a Google search for local-ish commercial vehicle hydraulic specialists/suppliers. They should be able to point you in the right direction to get one made up. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
  12. Sorry Shak, I’m failing to link lack of stop/start with water pump and cambelt. Kind regards, Gareth.
  13. Hello Andrew, I would help if you gave us all the necessary information you have from the outset.
  14. Try car breaker link websites such Partsfinder - there are more.

Disappointing that Alex is re-visiting the forum, but is not able to react to advice given.
  16. Thanks Avinash, Could you help us by letting us know where you have searched to date. Kind regards, Gareth.
  17. Hello David, Whatever component within the clutch assembly is at fault, it obviously means gearbox out to find the offender, be it from the release bearing/ concentric clutch, to the DM flywheel - or pressure plate or driven plate in between - all won’t be revealed until it is disassembled. Regrettably, but to be expected, it would not make sense just to renew the offending part, so a full assembly sounds ominous. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. I would advise only using quality parts - e.g. LUK, although aftermarket DMFs can be difficult to find as aftermarket on some models. Keep your fingers crossed it’s not a main-dealer-only part on yours.

Did you get anywhere with this after Alex?
  19. That is strange Chris, since the screw goes into the (Audi) hub, so the correctly ordered Audi screw should fit - irrespective of the brake disc supplier. Are the threads serviceable? Kind regards, Gareth.
  20. Hello Chris, I take it you are aware that you can refit this and tighten the wheel to the correct torque until you are able to order a new countersunk retaining screw on Tuesday. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. perhaps you could give us a more precise location within the United Kingdom.
  21. Hello, Although we are a friendly and helpful bunch on here, we do automatically take it that new members joining to ask a question, will at least take the trouble to fill in their profile properly. Could you please do that for us?

Level sensors are prone to sticking.
  23. Thanks Simon, Could you stick a price on this to save any messing about. Good luck with finding a good home for the kit. Kind regards, Gareth.
  24. Thanks for clarifying Steve, I thought I’d seen reference to this (duplicated?) thread before. Bless you if you are learning from me! The pupil will only be as good as the tutor - so that’s not saying much! Take care, and good luck to Wendy with her battery check. Kind regards, Gareth.
  25. Thanks Wendy, Commute should be adequate to maintain the battery. Cheap option first - as said, get the battery efficiency checked.
