    Hi Martin,

In short - yes it is sorted......but not in the way i hoped!!!

I ended up refurbing all 4 injectors - I replaced the unit that was out of tolerance and it made no difference on its own, however after changing the other 3 ( what i thought were ok) injectors it was like a different car - there was still some 'noise' there but no where near as bad............it was then suggested that the EGR was replaced, I was a bit unsure about this as it was only changed 2 years ago after total failure.........again, the difference was incredible.

The noise I have now is attributed to engine wear and the remap......I am considering getting it put back to stock.......just to see if it makes any difference.

However, I t really is like a different car now, so i guess i may live the the slight noise!!

    Mark

  2. Welcome to the forum Chris :)

youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :)

sorry to hear your having issues abd sorry Audi can't fit you in till the 10th of October. However this seems to be a common occurrence with Audi and they are often overbooked!

Keep us posted on how you get on with Audi Assist and hopefully the issue is resolved soon abd thankfully it's still in the warranty period.

Youve not had the emissions recall carried out by any chance?

    Cheers

I'm definitely with Ed and Gareth on this one! Don't have it done!! Audi can't force you too and it's not a legal requirement for it to be carried out as far advise you were aware the car was legal at the time of purchase.

It doesn't affect your tax, Audi basically just complete on online form to show your car has not had it done and you saying no doesn't affect your rights.

The recall often throws up issues with your car with egr, egr coolers and even the DPF and other things which are often £1000+ repair.

I speak from experience as I have worked at a Volkswagen service department!!

I would never have it done!!!

    Cheers

Thanks for the quick reply Steve, I am pleased to say that Audi have come back and said it was a mistake in the documentation and confirmed I have the manufacturers warranty for the remains part of the 3 years. Your advise was helpful and would have been my next step had they have not sorted it.

    many thanks, great forum

  5. Hey Terry welcome to the forum :)

your dead right! The manufacturers warranty should carry over as long as the car had full service history.

Any additional warranty they offer should only start after the manufacturers warranty has expired.

Starting additional warranty before the manufacturers has expired is mis selling and thus illegal!

    Hope that makes sense.

    Cheers

I tell you what mite be feasible with the right engineering and enough money! x2 2.5 TFSI lumps bolted onto a custom bottom end to make a v10. would still probably need to a lot of cutting still and a lot of custom parts but that would be sick! :yahoo:

Well that would basically be an R8 engine! :)

The v10 engine would fit in easier than the w12 lol
