  2. I just google it due to no response here.
  3. Not really an issue. If you get a front puncture, jack a back wheel and replace it with the spacesaver, then replace the flat front with the full size good wheel. It's a bit more faffing around but probably adds no more than 5-10 mins to the wheel change👍

We use Shell V-Power E5. It contains fewer additives than E10 and has a slightly higher octane rating. Used lots of different fuels over the years in two RS5’s, a TT and a couple of A6’s, and , to us, this one seems really good. Stick with E5 and you should be good.

  6. I have an Audi alroad having issues with the Air suspension. Rear air bags were replaced last year. Fault light kept appearing once a week then go off. For a week or 2. Anyway fault light and speed restriction appeared, suspention would not go up or down. Put in to garage, they says it looks struts! Have advised us Specific Audi struts are very expensive but cheaper ones may not last, so putting it out there to you all. Any advice on where to get decent struts. Make ? Links? Thank you all. Alice.
  7. Hi I'm trying to remove the centre bolt from drivers output flange. The Allen bolt is turning but not unthreading any ideas how I remove it
  8. My young son reclined the passenger seat back on top of a baby seat base and kept going until the plastic seat back buckled and pushed in. Any ideas how much this is going to cost to repair or replace? Thanks
  9. I would have no qualms about new DSG boxes. 25 years ago the early ones were a little troublesome when they were introduced, but nowadays they are as reliable and durable as manual gearboxes. That's not to say they last forever, but the same applies to manuals. They will need maintenance over their lives just like manuals, but should last as long as the engine and other major car components. And of course there will be no more clutch costs. So your decision comes down to whether you prefer the transmission to take care of itself, or you actually like to be involved in gear changing. Personally I fail to see the attraction of repeatedly tramping on a pedal and waving a metal pole sticking out of the floor just to make the car perform its basic function of travelling from A to B, when everything else about the car such as windows, seat position, mirror position, temperature etc. is automated. The crudity of a manual gear change amongst the sophistication of all the other control functions is jarring to my way of thinking.
  10. My 70 plate Audi A6 Avant Black Edition broke down Monday 20th May 2024. After travelling 45 mins in the car and pulling up to a roundabout my car came up with a transmission fault and would not move. I then called the AA who could do nothing with the car other than tow me to my Audi dealership. Unfortunately the kicker was that we were due on our yearly family Cornwall trip on Friday 24th May so that then left the holiday in tatters 😔 They then had the car inspected Tuesday/Wednesday and found that the gearbox mechatronics had failed and requires replacing. I then asked the question should this really be happening on a car that has full Audi service history at just over 3 years old? They have said that I am liable for the bill with zero contribution from them because the gearbox oil change was due on 40K and mines done 46K, but I had previously tried to book the car in for this doing on 2 occasions previously, but they were too busy and could not supply me with a car to get to work in. On top of that I had to get a hire car to try and salvage our family holiday but again thus only added to the stress, upset and anxiety of the whole family, not to mention the £1900 hire bill on top of Audi's £1860 bill. So, can anyone tell me do I have a case to try reclaim any of these costs or maybe even just the bill from Audi as i think this is absolutely disgusting from a reputable world wide company such as Audi that pride themselves on their great name and customer service. How can treat their customers in this manner after spending tens of thousands of pounds on a brand new car and what makes it worse I have been with Audi now about 12 years with various models of vehicles 😡 I would really appreciate any help and all feedback.
  11. Hello team, I'm experiencing this issue quite a time. When driving the coolant alarm goes on and flashes, this happens at random times. The car does not overheat and the coolant level is normal. I have changed the temperature sensors as I thought that was causing the issue but the problem remains. Also there are no errors running a diagnostic check. If someone knows anything I would appreciate it.

  13. 2 x bottle of forte turbo clean and a bottle of forte advanced formula diesel cleaner going in tomorrow, an hours idling and then a good run and see how it goes. Try the cheaper option before I start ripping off the actuator and changing it
  14. The mystery is solved! It was a faulty hearing aid! Had that blasted thing bleeping today all the way to Kent from Hampshire. I'm deaf and wear hearing aids. Good news, I'm due for replacement in a few months' time. Sammie's in fine health! ❤️
  15. Have a B8 with 2.0tdi 143bhp. Would like some extra horses so what’s the best way to go about it?
  16. Hi everyone. So, finally found a reputable VCDS guru who is upspecing my Japanese imported A6 3.0T. Was chatting maintenance and he mentioned Liqui Moly. sweara by it. Before I go and buy some for my oil change thats due soon I was wondwring has anyone on here used it and if so, whats the verdict? I only use the recommended oil by Audi anyway but this chap said it made a huge difference to his oil consumption and overall performance.
  17. 3rd time now Syed - but we don’t give up! Parts in Motion?? If you prefer Helli coiling - and I can’t argue with that- you will need to get through some shoe leather and/or telephone calls to find a garage who will do it for you. I think most will conclude they just can’t be bothered to do that for the perceived risk involved, but I guess you have to keep trying. Take it you are going to remove the component - yes? If so, ask around your locality for someone who does machining - say skims cylinder heads. Such an individual will be your best bet. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
  18. I can't help with fuse location except to point to the underside of the fusebox cover. They often have fuse information on them. More to the point are you sure the fuse has blown? Cigarette lighters often burn out because the heating elements are not kept clean.
  19. Could you now come back to us with the size please Brian.
  20. Welcome Robert, and thanks for joining. Has your particular car been built with fold-in mirrors - which don’t fold- or are you trying, and failing, to manually turn them in when you want to? Kind regards, Gareth.
  21. Yes, the low pressure pump in tank has a very fine mesh filter which was blocked just enough to put it into limp mode. Do not attempt to pull the pump apart like I did as it broke the plastic cup that the pump sits in and I had to buy a new one at a cost of £508!!!!! Main dealer part only. Drain the fuel tank and give it a good clean if it is the same issue I had
  22. I moved this to A5 section as it does not belong in Banter.
  23. Did you manage to get this sorted, I had my ad blue injector and cap replaced but still comes up with fault, please let me know.
  24. Hello all New to the club, bought the tickets and will be there with my S3, probably won't make Tesco though
  25. Hello ‘Rambo’, Would you please take a little of your time to complete your profile properly, so that members may be more inclined to spend a little of their time to help you out. Thanks.
  26. I’m sorry if I have brought this topic up before but I find this forum really helpful. my issue is I have an Audi a5 sportback 2017, and I also have the Audi app. The app shows my ad blu level is sitting at 1500 miles. It doesn’t matter how much ad blu I put in my ad blu tank, this figure of 1500 miles doesn’t change. Can anyone please tell me if this is correct. I thought my maximum level was 9000 miles for my ad blu but I may be wrong. I thought if I put more ad blu in the tank, the dull level would go up on my app. thanks in advance. David

  28. Much appreciated Steve. That's great. I'll let him know and we'll get it sorted!
