Ever since the front pads and discs were replaced over a year ago, I have had an intermittent worn pads warning. Just after the pads and discs were replaced, the warning light illuminated constantly for a week or so, but then gradually reduced to rarely on. Recently, I had the drivers side front wheel bearing replaced, and the worn pads warning light has reappeared. I had an electrical engineer attempt to code out the light, but the cars software is too old for his software, and it's not possible to degrade to older software. Thankfully, the warning light is illuminating much less, if it follows the historical pattern, it should only light up after a full lock turn. My mechanics think it's not a wiring fault because it's so intermittent and is more likely an issue with the ABS pump or ECU. I am still pushing for the light to be coded out, but have hit a brick wall. Has anyone got any ideas?

Could it be faulty wire within the pads? The system relies on the wire in brake pad to tell the sensor when to illuminated the light if that makes sense. Or could it be a faulty sensor itself 

Hi Steve, that's been discounted because the fault would show constantly and not intermittently.  Today for instance had the OK until I completed a sharp right turn at the end of my road, and the warning light came on again and stayed on.

That's why I want it coding out, but there seems to be an issue of software incompatibility because of the age of the car.

Ah right. Might be worth trying to get it done by an Audi independent specialist. 

OK, I will put some feelers out for one in the Wrexham area.

That suggests to me a loose or corroded connection.

The mechanic says he checked for that when the pads were replaced, because that's when this whole saga started.

Have him Jump the electrical connector to see if there is a problem with the pads ir your wireing harness

Hi Larry, I have done that but still have the intermittent warning, and I can't find any Audi dealer that will code out the warning light. We can land men on the Moon but it is seemingly mission impossible to code out the warning light.

That is because it is part of the safety system.
