  2. Go on LLL Parts website, and see what info comes up against your VIN. It might come up with accessories part numbers.
  3. Welcome Luke. Can we take it you have a record of its previous service history, to know - as a base point - what has been done and what hasn’t -? Mileage? Will you be doing your own servicing and maintenance? Regards, Gareth.
  4. Hey Cliff Just looking at AI .....as you do now ! and it says there that it could be down to two things. Water ingress of the aerial ? I cannot think it's that as the car is only 3 months old and I do remember now that I had this happen on the day I picked it up on the drive back from Bury St.Edmunds to Hampshire. I thought it was me at the time being dopey with the MMI settings ! And it also went on to say that if the fault was the aerial, I would have trouble too with the SatNav as the GPS and the radio use the same antenna....and SatNav works fine. I get the feeling it might be software ......surprise surprise !!!! Cheers. Will come back

Hi Rob, There are some really helpful sites on the internet that can steer you through the minefield of offsets, wheel widths, tyre sizes and profiles www.willtheyfit.com and www.wheel-size.com to name just two, but there are others. They are relatively straightforward and you are asked to specify your current set up and then you can input your favoured sizes and the site will quickly tell you how your favoured sizes will fit and importantly sit on the vehicle. You can input as many size options as we want and as many times as you want, I was over a 12 months trying to find alloys and tyres to fit my S7 and eventually with the help of aforementioned sites I eventually found a set of wheels I liked and that would fit. No spacers, just extra length wheel bolts (from H&S) to accommodate the different offset. The other thing to bear in mind, but on an A6 (not an S6) I think you should be ok, is the physical size of the front brake callipers. For me this was an additional problem. Anyway like you, I wanted alloys that filled my arches, that didn't stick out and didn't look ridiculous. I hope I achieved it, but its very subjective!!! Hope this is helpful & best of luck
  7. Correct. I have about 100 clear photos of the car and its complete restoration. I'm happy to answer any queries. Please PM me if of interest. Thank you.
  8. This isn’t going to be that helpful a response to you Zac, but may prevent others falling into the same trap. Anyone going into the purchase of a vehicle which is known to have been mapped, is far more likely to be jumping into bed with trouble. Regards, Gareth.

  10. In the summer of 2024, I had to contact Audi Assist as an amber light on the dashboard came on. A mechanic came out and installed his diagnostic tool. Initially, the error code was referring to a faulty overhead console dome; however, after clearing the codes, the lights went off, and that was the end of it. This year, another amber light came on, and once diagnosed by Audi, it was found to be a faulty overhead console dome, which now has to be replaced and is getting carried out tomorrow (Wednesday) at a total cost of £970. Do I have a goodwill claim against Audi and if so does anyone know how or who to contact?
  11. Hello people, first post as I'm new to this forum. 2017 A3 Cabriolet and I'd like to fit a dashcam. I've done it in other vehicles but the trim around the top of the screen looks a bit tricky. Any tricks or pointers to stop me buggering up the existing wiring, airbags or trim. I'm tossing up between the Vantrue E1 pro and the Viofo A119 mini. I'd like to hard wire it, but I don't use the 12v socket at the front of the centre console so it's not a biggie if it's not possible.
  12. Will do 👍🏻
  13. “It is a freedom and a right that all of our constituents should be able to enjoy unencumbered by the state, whether national or local. A weekly shop for a family of five cannot be carried on the back of a bike.” Twenty years ago there would have been no debate. But in Britain’s today, driving even modest cars has become a luxury increasingly out of reach of ordinary people. https://archive.is/1ZcRq My Q5 had a list price of about £42k in 2018. It now seems to be around £56k
  14. Sorry, only just seen this. I didn't order any particular battery. The garage got a Yuasa AGM Start Stop Plus
  15. Be interesting to know what the smoke test limit is for your car is. CO2 levels from new on diesel ultra ranged from 99-109 CO2g/km. I know the MOT smoke tests soot opacity only. Not mechanically related - but if for any reason car fails MOT and it's linked back to AdBlue delete, then you risk your insurance being invalidated. Insurers share this information for future. Also, when and if the car is sold, I'm assuming new owner will need to be told?

  18. Thanks Steve, Hopefully I can have this resolved on Wednesday in that case! I’ll update the thread with the conclusion then.
  19. I think its project over for this year, the ecu is still at parcelforce, it has been since 18th June. I don't think I will see it anytime soon and I cannot do anything else untill it arrives.
  20. A My A6 c7 has came up on the dash to add 1 litre of oil. I added 1 litre and then came up again 1 week later, done the same again. Eventually I got the mechanic to check it out. Couldn't see anything wrong , no oil leaking , replaced the engine oil sensor, 5 litres taken out and 7 added. Three weeks later same thing happened again. Dip stick added and the levels are okay. Anyone else experience this or similar? Thanks
  21. There's usually a stop start button to switch the system off, or a light in the instrument panel.
  22. Please keep us posted on how you get on
  23. Publish your clip to YouTube then link it back here. Loud turbo, not sure. Granted, it will kick in around 1,500 rpm, but if it was noisy such as over-boost, I’d expect it to go into limp mode. If car is scanned with VCDS that should rule that out. Brakes, sticky caliper can make a noise, but disc would heat up and you’d smell burning. Stone behind disc and brake shield? Discs heating up then you’ll see heat spots. To rule out, drive for 10-15 minutes and coast to a stop. Discs should be warm, but definitely not hot. When auxilliary serpentine drive belt was changed, no issues with job, no bearings on way out? No loss of coolant or other indicators?
  24. so in general, the water isn’t coming out of sunroof,it’s coming from that sound barrier? I can’t open any file/video on this page. Can someone reach out to me,my email is [email protected] with the video and pdf file of bulletin how to fix it. Thank you!
  25. Hi my keyfob won't work so changed battery and still the same so I use door key which activated my alarm and it wouldn't start I put keys in the right place to connect but kept saying key not detected Its a a5 40tfsi 2022plate
  26. Count yourself lucky its not the V10. The V8 is generally reliable, however you're buying a 2016-2018 supercar, so it's been around. History is everything. If there's more paperwork than a Brexit export, then you're on the right lines. If the tyres are on the legal limit and brakes need a refresh, then be aware it will be expensive and more importantly question why? Simply saying RS6 seems to add £2k to everything. I'd want the car scanned first off with VCDS to see if there's any historical DTC errors logged. This is a performance car so oil changes every 5-8k miles. In terms of issues. Air intake valves can carbon up. You could treat it to a walnut blast. It's sensor heavy, so if original battery, factor in replacement. It needs coded to car and vented. If panoramic roof, check drain holes. Run mild detergent down them (exit above hinge on front door) and behind rear wheel arch liner. VAG have specific grease for sunroof. Also clean rubber seals. Assuming LED headlights. Potentially LED matrix if later car. Then check operation. Dipping light adjustment on start up is normal, but any further sporadic movent underway points to damaged or siezed height adjustment sensors. Servicing, diffs could use gear oil change. Depends on mileage. It's a ZF 6-speed transmission, but there will be a filter kit, so unless evidence of having it done, factor in. Cooling, apparently this thing has multiple radiators, fans and oil coolers. All are prone to wear and tear. If the car was remapped, be very wary.
  27. Just wondering which gearbox service kit members recommend for the zf 6 speed auto box on the 3.0 tdi (240bhp) A6 C6 Allroad? Thanks
