  3. Dear All, I just wanted to remove my oil pan on my 2.0 TDI CGL 177ps multitronic Avant because of leaking (damaged draing plug hole). Everything is removed in the area, no bolts are holding the pan but I'm still not able to pull off, don't have enough space. I'm a bit confused at the moment, at the front I've also removed A/C compessor and removed 2-2 bolts from subframe but it is not moving anything...How can I create more space, any idea?

  5. I had a panal beater paint the bumper and fix some damage, and since then a large amount of water was found where the spare tire lives. I have no idea how the water is getting in,but notice a large gap in the panels by the lights?!? is this normal or could they have put the wrong parts back on. Also my back window whiper is acting all weird and not working as it once did and the boot lights look old/all dull now too.
  6. Hi Graham how is it holding up since your last post I'm looking to having my sports back 2.0 tdi 66 plate done will take from 150 to 190 from the resurch I have done . Tdi without a map I'm getting normal driving in town between 55mpg to 62 mpg ! Have you continued to gain on the fule usage?

  8. also the fuel said 20 miles left, and i topped it up today before seeing this with £8 worth of premium unleaded. As because the car has been sat for a year hardly used i thought it best to get some fresh fuel in it.
  9. This forum doesn’t have any issue with your user name either, but it does have certain standards in relation to actual names, and my personal view is that by changing it from ‘D’ to ‘&’ is simply an attempt to be clever and to extract the urine - impolite! I’ll refrain from further comments about your posts and wish you, and those you deal with at the dealer, good luck with your purchase. There we are then!
  10. Is this available?
  11. perfect thanks, I've jacked her back up and found a slightly loose starter earth but surely that wouldn't be it. i will disconnect the alternator plug and check the draw. ill keep you updated. i will have closer look at the multi meter to get the amps in the correct power. seen as i've only fiddled with the starter i assumed it would be that but alternator could be a shout.ill update tomorrow once ive had a fiddle about.
  12. A6 Avant Black Edition 40 TDi Daytona Pearl // Tech Pack Pro // Valcona Leather // Extended Leather / Luggage Pack // 21” Upgraded Alloys 4 months in 😍
  13. Now has full MOT with only advisories on brake wear
  14. Could this be a fueling issue?
  15. You're welcome. It should be there as my A6 is of a similar age and design. Definitely not!
  16. Hello Marc, As Cliff says. That indeed was my motive for asking what brand the new thermostat was. In quite recent times I regret to say the reliability of new-out-of-box components has become very, very questionable, and not helped by the increasing use of the term OE which might encourage buyer confidence. Again, the use of once trusted brand names - now owned by licensing companies - adds kudos to products no longer manufactured to anything like the quality of the original brand. Dad/granddad then says ‘that’s a quality brand’ and it aids sales. So don’t take for granted that once respected brand name components will be serviceable, simply because they are new. Thermostats are a key component, and are sometimes difficult to access, so for me, it’s the exception to the rule, and I spend a bit more on one bought at the main dealer. Regards, Gareth.
  17. Is it noisy? There's cases of humming or ticking noises from the pump:
  18. Very nice. Think I've been past it.
  19. Thanks Naresh, I would suggest restricted use and very frequent level checking when you do have to use it. Don’t depend on the ‘low coolant ‘ message popping up to remind you to do that. Regards, Gareth.
  20. Any particular reason why your Sign On has now changed to Guest, Paul?
  21. You're welcome 🙂 Yes. I believe a crank sensor can.
  22. Last week
  23. Still shows as two broken play symbols on mine so just did two screen shots to show what it looked like.
  24. I assume the large wheels will have very low profile tyres, an arrangement that is known to produce a much harsher ride than normal, so it's reasonable to believe that is what has knocked out springs and bearings. Not sure about the drive shafts.
