  2. Watching with interest, thanks for posting. im about ti replace front dampers, top mounts and anti roll bar links on my A3. the top mounts are getting a bit creaky. Dampers look to be originals and with the car past 100k miles replacing them can’t do any harm I suppose.
  3. I should also say that I have seen the service books with stamps. I will view the car next week. I just want to do my research before making that journey.
  4. Hello David, To my logic, the suffix A denotes an earlier version of your later B, so possibly from a pre 2009. Significance?? If it remanufactured as opposed to just ‘secondhand’, then the remanufacturer will/ should have the experience to answer any questions about specific differences. Have you asked, and have you had a reply? Kind regards, Gareth.
  5. You will never have such bad trans fluid when u NEVER do launch when u never drive like maniac .. In the past people were owning cars and NEVER EVER thought that they gonna replace trnas. fluid.. ONLY engine oil... Nowadays people doing all sht on internet just to make money from views so they will replace all possible nonsense on car.. When people suddenly shoot off from stop and step on it.. The trans gears making massive friction where micro chips happening from metals.. Nothing is undestroyable in the world.. If you never do all these car abuses your trans fluid will be STILL gold after 5 years or even 10 years of driving car...
  6. Hi, there peeps, I have an A3 1.9Tdi 3-door hatchback from March 2009 making it a 8P1. > As the title states I have had this drain for some time now and have been unable to find the source despite the usual testing methods, i.e. digital meter on the mA range with the leads in the correct orientation, any way to cut a long story, I took out all the under dashboard cover's, steering column, glovebox etc. in a search for an obvious short etc. At this time I was disconnecting the positive lead from the battery and I manually locked the car. At the same time as this was happening, I purchased a new Junsun multi-media entertainment system ( I was awaiting arrival from China) to replace my Audi Chorus which I took out, it then started raining due to various other circumstances including the weather I was not able to get back to the car. Finally, I then started looking for any signs of a fault using my HEX-V2 dongle, there were several fault codes but NONE that related to what I was experiencing. I don't know what made me do it but I checked the multiplug for the Audi Chorus (the radio is in the house) for any signs of a supply and I found it in the multiplug, at this stage, there was no key in the ignition and both doors were shut, while sat in the car I pressed the remote to lock the car and waited and waited and I still had a supply from the multiplug. So after a bit of research etc. I found the fuses are located in the engine bay # 8 and 9 I proved this by removing them and checking the multiplug supply it has now gone, so reinstated said fuses now back to square one. First thing if I go out to the car in the morning take off the positive lead and then tap the positive battery post I get a very small spark which tells me something is energized but take out the fuse and there is no spark, I forgot to mention the door and the bonnet catch have been put into the lock position and I have to wait about an hour to start this procedure (sorry cart before the horse). What is really puzzling me is why is the multiplug still live even when the car has gone to sleep etc.

  8. The O2 sensor was replaced by a garage, I hope they readapted. I noticed I have 2 pressure sensors (one has both ends connected and the second only one) and they are next to eachother. Should I replace them both?
  9. Oh dear. I can safely say I won't be trying that myself. Thanks for the heads up anyway Steve.
  10. Not been doing too much too her fixed the exhaust on properly and been looking for the red interior, last night had a good touch got a full set normally 600.00 to 1200.00, I won this for 136.00 yea totally stole it
  11. Hi I am a new member. I have just had timing chain and cambelt changed on my 2006 plate 2.0FSI Quattro and now I have this error. P0011. I have a cheapy OBD reader that says it is something to do with the cam timing. Can anyone add any useful information? I will take the car back to the mechanic but just wondering if anybody else has had this.
  12. Did anyone try a different flywheel in the end? I'm likely needing to replace my clutch soon so I'm tempted to try fitting 0B2105266L
  13. Happy to say I got the car back on Friday and all appears well. new high pressure pump and a list of other parts as long as my arm, gave it a good run around over the weekend and all good.
  14. Hi Nick, Nice car. No I lost the will to live and gave up. Got a different seat with the spindly leg at the front which I'm not convinced would be as good as a top tether. Fitted 2 genuine Audi isofix bars myself not cheap. The images above show a part number can't guarantee it. But I think you could only fit one top tether seat as the recess is only on RHS of the back of the seat. Seems to me that the Americans had a solution but was unable to find out. Good luck. Let us know. Steve
  15. Looks great, very similar to my 2011 but mine not the Le Mans. currently at 165,000 miles. What did you sort the rear lights out with? the standard polishing kit? Also next time you have it plugged in any chance of sharing the exhaust temperatures - pre turbo especially - we my other thread!!🤔 All the best

  17. Thank you, it’s already in the garage tomorrow for a faulty top shock mount, so I’ll get him to check it out Linda
  18. Fixed. Car was in and out within 2 hours! Happy that it's now locked down.
  19. Hi Andy thank you for the update it gives the forum value and continuity. Steve.

    Real MPG

I have a 17 plate A7 3.0 TDI (272) motorway was getting 40 to 45mpg on local roads closer to 25 to 30mpg. Had a stage 1 mid map (320bhp) now getting 30 all day long on local roads but motorway now sitting at a comfy 50 to 55mpg driving at 65 to 75. Extra oomph is a bonus when needed.
  21. Will be too late now to arrange a stand.
  22. Hi all, im not looking for assistance im logging my warranty issue here for those who may have a similar issue for assistance/ diagnosis. vehicle effected: MY2023 40 TDi Quattro, 10,127 miles. symptom: vehicle displays drive system fault randomly at no given reason performing attribute causing vehicle to go into limp mode. Turning the car off and on again resolves limp mode. Extremely poor MPG (average 34mpg combined driving). Cause Fault codes: relate to air mass flow sensor recording incorrect parameters causing vehicle to go into limp mode. (Code to follow) additional fault code: relate to ‘reductant System’ ad-blu pump flow rate too low or ineffective. diagnosis verdict: warranty claim, replacement mass air flow sensor and pump. Concern is the car is trying to compensate for emissions out the exhaust as a result causing the air intake parameters to adjust outside of the required normal numbers. For good measure the dealership has decided to replace both as the indication for the air sensor has been two occasions where the car has broken down as a result of this fault code (recorded by Audi assist).
  23. Just realised I posted this in the 8p forum. Can a moderator swap this to the 8v section please ? thanks
  24. Re the rear brakes, have you noticed excessive brake dust build up on either/both rear wheels? This can be an indication of a binding caliper. maybe raise the rear wheels and see if the wheel/wheels rotate freely without too much binding. if the caliper is binding badly you will notice the brake disc becoming hot after a run.
  25. Hi Gareth, Yes, very similar issue. Audi A3 Sportback (8PA)1.6 2013. Keep getting ESC Traction Control & ABS lights coming on intermittently and car juddering and sometimes cutting out. Sometimes it just clears itself. Sometimes it's fine and sometimes it just doesn't start. I have OBD Eleven so can get fault codes etc. It is actually my daughters car but she got fed up and bought a new one. Plan is that i have it as it better than mine. Not really looked at it much, just picking up tips from this forum. All i have done to date is changed 1 Wheel Sensor.
  26. Hello Wendy, Welcome, and sorry to hear of your issue. This just isn’t acceptable. Have you tried a search on here for ‘pre sense’? I’m sure there is a thread going on it. If it were mine, I would be threatening ( in writing) to reject the vehicle. Kind regards, Gareth.
  27. Hi sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but definitely not.
