  2. Hello Grant, Meaningful information and the results of advised tests are dribbling through slowly, but dribbling they are. Important :- Is this car a manual or an automatic? How did you measure the latest battery voltage? Was the engine on the jump start donor car ( what was it?) running at about 2,000 rpm when you attempted to start yours with it. Regards, Gareth.
  3. I replaced the CCM in my '03 A6 C5 1.9TDI with one that had the identical part number a couple of months ago and it was completely plug and play. Your key fobs will need to be reprogrammed however, but it's a really quick and straightforward job if you have two. I posted a guide in the C5 forum that explains it step by step. Hope that helps you mate.
  4. Can you ask them whether it was an engine earth cable or the positive feed cable to the starter?
  5. UPDATE!!! the frayed wire was changed completely and seems to have fixed the problem. thank you for everyones help 馃檪
  6. haha hard to express emotions with no emojis
  7. Sorry. No it did not crank the engine
  8. That does not answer the question of whether the jump start cranked the engine.
  9. "Engine failure" could mean anything from a broken ignition wire to complete seizure of the engine, and therefore tells us nothing meaningful. I suggest you get the car to a garage to have the problem diagnosed.
  10. So took a battery reading 12.6v then 12.3 with the ignition on. Jump start from donor car did not work/change anything in the dash.
  11. Today
  12. Grant. Did the engine turn over when you tried to jump start it? Rather than push the car to a garage why not call out a mobile mechanic and get him to test the battery, which is the most likely problem? 12 volts is too low for a battery in good condition.
  13. I doubt it Richard. Any significant modification usually invalidates the warranty, whether it is related to the problem or not. For your sake I'd be glad to be proved wrong.
  14. That was the first thing I did. But thanks.

  16. engine was running.stopped at a junction start stop activated.went to pull away & engine died no warning lights on dash. RAC called & suspect engine failure.Anyone had this problem ? it's a 2021 plate with 49 000 miles
  17. Ok so far. Iv test every fuse including both sets under the bonnet. Popped over seen garage he is of the similar opinion and said to test earthing. Iv test the earthing by jump lead from -at battery to engine block. I've tried to jump start the car the doner car wasn't very big tho. Iv ordered a large capacity jump pack and a newer charger. If that don't work I'll have to push it upto the garage. I've seen that you can manually get the car out off park. But that won't be till next week. Will keep feed upto date with progress. Thanks Grant
  18. Has anyone got experience of having this replaced with TD1 registered? Work was approved then declined by local dealer as TD1 flag detected. I had EGR mapped out earlier this year after spending fortune replacing the intake manifolds. Dealer are saying it鈥檚 no longer covered under the 7yr warranty. I鈥檝e escalated to Audi, not holding breath, but wondered if anyone else has had experience in similar situation.
  19. Try LLL Parts website David.
  20. Hello Riyss, So much data to read and understand. I don鈥檛 know what the regulations are in your country, but here, any vehicle driven on tyres with 1mm of tread (if I鈥檝e read correctly) would be illegal and I would guess - worldwide? - any owner driving on such tyres would not be demonstrating a high regard for their vehicle鈥檚 maintenance. Aren鈥檛 there any others to choose from? Regards, Gareth.
  21. Has anyone ever used the gunson electronic park brake tool 77088
  22. Now that I'm not sure. It's a risk for sure. Might be smooth seeking the advice from an auto electrician on that one.
  23. With the issues I'd walk away, as clearly the current owner is getting shot of it in my opinion
  24. Well done for tackling it yourself. Does your local motor factors not carry the bolt size in stock?
  25. Oh wow, great stuff Tony 馃槉 sorry I've not arranged shows this year. Since my Audi is off the road and my mate Jack emigrated with his TT I've lost the heart to organise the stands.
  26. Would it make sense to try and start it with jump leads? If it starts then you know starter is ok, and maybe the issue lies with the battery. In any case you will probably need to do this if you are planning to take it to a garage to get the battery tested.
  27. Good morning everyone...Im asking for some wisdom as to why I have code P0670 on my code reader..The code reader is a chip shop version but iv had it reset at the local garage and the same msg comes back ..glowplug control module open ? Iv changed that and now I have the ESP brake and start stop light up...Any thoughts most wellcome..is it safe to drive? Thanks again... JImbo
