  2. I have a 2018 S3 and 2019 A3 1.5 TFSI. I do all my own servicing and change the oil at 8000 miles. The A3 has done 91000 and the only thing we have done is change the DSG clutch pack. The mechanic showed us the one that came out and reckoned it had a lot more life in it but we had a fault message and juddering in the low gears. It has been a great reliable car as has the S3. Having done some research these engines can go for 150K plus. I run my cars into the ground so hope this is the case. FYI I saw a 2018 Toyota Prius hybrid with 330000 on the clock. This chap had the car from new and changed the oil every 8000 miles. Not sure on the finance bit as I buy the cars outright but I feel confident they have plent of miles in them.

I was thinking the same. I’ll get the oil changed in the front and rear diffs. Many thanks.

  16. Interesting that Lenksäulensteuergerät translates as steering column control unit.
  17. I forgot to mention, that was on from a week ago, cars booked in for egr/dpf ❌ on monday
  18. i think i might have found a solution, i saw on the other post about the same problem that someone changed the part called "Lenksäulensteuergerät VW 1K0 953 549 DB Audi A3 Sportback 8P" in german. So i bought it and i waited for some hot weather so i can give you an update. And this whole week was over 30° with some days even being 34°. The car worked perfectly and had no problems. So it definitely solved the problem for me. Hope it helps someone else too.
  19. You don't think the P2002 could be false because of the faulty battery Steve?
  20. Hi never mind the battery the p2002 is going to cost some dollar to fix, get a quote first before spending any more money. Steve.
  21. As has been suggested - just replace it with a quality branded one, get it recoded, and just don’t bother to get it retested elsewhere, but worth getting the alternator output checked. Regards, Gareth.
  22. I’d probably get the matter resolved first and then insist on a meeting with the dealer principal.

  24. If it is the original battery from 2015, get it changed any way. It is long overdue to be retired.
  25. Perhaps a letter to the dealer asking for a refund would spur him into action. There is nothing like a demand for money for getting his attention.
  26. I will take it to proper garage and have it tested again Thanks
  27. It’s shocking that an Audi dealer can’t find the time to address a potentially dangerous issue on a 5-week-old car. I would imagine it didn’t take them that long to take your money. Anyway, glad to hear you have a tech on the case who seems to know what he’s doing. Good luck.
  28. Thanks Joe, do you perhaps know if an engine top cover is available for my 2026 A3?
  29. Engineer from Audi road service called but was completely baffled by the problem. He scanned the vehicle and found a number of "U" codes which he said means parts of the electronics were not communicating with each other. He was astonished the Audi dealer was too busy to look at the car especially as it is only 5 weeks old. He said he would contact Audi customer services directly as see what could be done to resolve the issue and to get the dealer to do the job they are supposed to do. I'll keep you posted on any developments.
  30. If you’ve had S Tronic gearbox service (every 38k miles), and you have VCDS, then I would do gearbox adaption calibration in basic settings. Few videos as mentioned. Try than and see if any improvement.
  31. If you’re going to the bother of doing transmission, then nothing wrong with doing front and rear diffs. They should be fine until 100k, but they only take 2-3 litres, so hardly going to break the bank. The Tiptronic box is a different story, 8 litres of special ATF.
  32. Battery should be 12.4v minimum. If it’s original battery you’ve done well. Replacement is AGM type, and coded to the car, vented, etc.

  34. The battery is not fine, it is almost dead. Ensure you get the new one coded to the car. I wouldn't trust the clowns at Kwikfit any more than those at Halfords.
