missing parts
Reducing the trim and features seems to be a policy with vag cars. Latest gti does not have an automatic bonnet stay or dipstick. You can buy them separately if you want to retrofit.

Boot opens when drivers door opened
2026 SQ8 Often my boot opens when I open the drivers door. Sometimes I find it open for no reason even when the key is not on my person. Today I found the front passenger window opened and the roof tilted about 10 minutes after arriving home when they were definitely closed. Has anyone else had these issues? Any ideas? 7e84e0e21d83473aa1ec13f4f11b59da05052026_111657am.mp4

2015 - CVT Gearbox!
Definatly 8 speed CVT, are we thinking definatly gearbox fault here, do I have to get it diagnosed as proof before reject, just checked time flys its just over the 30 day period, as trader is 200 miles away do I have to take to them to repair or can I get someone else to do it if faulty and charge finance/trader

engine
That is low considering the others were at 200 psi, but that was after 2 days and only a few miles so a good run it would probably come up more. Any car that had been started up, moved a few meters then switched of before coming off cold start will be bad on compression for a bit.

Help with aircon distribution please.
Hi think your aircon needs a degass had the same with mine and it was low refrigerant, its probably got a leak and if you look where the radiator is it might as well have a sign on it, Road Debris hit me. Steve.

90 psi is still abysmally low, indicating gas loss at valves or rings.

start/stop issue
I believe those symptoms are severe enough to justify rejecting the car and asking for a refund.

hi matty thanks for your reply, the guy who done the compression test said on bank 2 he was getting 6 bar where as on bank 1 he was getting 15 or 16 bar,the previous owner is very surprised to hear about this issue as he said it drove into the spot with no issues, the fuel pump was knackered when i got the car so i fitted a new one thinking it would run but now ive this problem

missing parts
I have a 2026 model A3 S Line which appears to have some missing parts. The plastic cover for the top of the engine, the filter in the washer bottle neck, the blue washer bottle cap. I am told Audi don't supply these items which seems strange to me in a quality car. My previous A3 S line had all these bits supplied from new can anybody shed any light on this. The dealer advises "that's how they come now"

start/stop issue
Hi folks, looking for a bit of knowledge to help me understand a start/stop niggle with my 2026 model A3 S Line 35 petrol. The engine has suddenly taken to cutting out without warning. Doing so at 70 mph on the motorway was terrifying lucky I managed to dip the clutch before everything locked up. It has done this at various speeds since that first experience. I've been back to the main dealer who advised do NOT turn the stop/start system off and having done so touch wood no more cutting out incidents. I usually did turn the system off as I hate the start/stop operation but now it doesn't work at all. The main dealer can't look at my car for about three weeks and won't supply a courtesy vehicle while they hold onto mine. The car is six weeks old, brand new and has 548 miles on the clock. Any ideas or advice would be welcome.

How low is the compression, I've had some cars that just needed some gas treatment in the fuel tank that help clean the valves. I did an a2 last week that brought the compression up from 50 psi to 90 psi.

2015 - CVT Gearbox!
HI, 2015 2.0 TDI Technik 150hp 8 speed Had car aboutt 3 weeks, 97,700 on it, when picked up, now just over 98,000 can see ATF was done at 40,000, regular serviceing every year upto 67,,000 on avg only 5-10,000 miles per year, then in 2022 jumps 20,000 miles no more service records or documentation, Trader states with reciept OIL change and fluid top ups & 12 month mot before I pickup (400mile round trip), not sure can trust them. Ive had ATF & Filter changed, got DPF light on so took for motorway spin, but when I use paddle to drop gear it would shift back in normal auto mode D/S depending which I was in within 30secs, would not hold manualy gear. Car drives and shifts without any jerking is nice and smooth dosent appear to slip when changing gears, have noticed when warm there is a slight hesitation when setting off. No Error Codes for transmission . Any ideas

Hello Jake, I would agree with your assumption, but an assumption it must remain until inspected. Regards, Gareth.
