  2. Somewhat evasive response! Perhaps I shouldn’t comment on the following, but… ‘..submit …for testing …..rule yes or know’ Um, know for no. ‘Doesn’t cost you…..as your our customer…’ Um, your for you are. Anyway…. Why don’t these people simply state ‘ we used Brand x, and we will now be using Brand Y? Regards, Gareth.
  3. Hello again Colin, Have you had the car long enough to have not experienced this issue before?
  4. I don't have a dipstick but it all points to suspect level sensor. Just don't know what to believe in the meantime as scale was on max when the top up warning came on. Garage checked the amount of oil in it and there is 4.3 litres which should be where it should be. At least if it gets really low the pressure switch should come in.
  5. Hello Ross, Although you are very welcome to advertise this on here, I feel the forum has to emphasise to interested parties that the tyre and wheel are damaged, and that professional advice should be sought re. suitability and safety for road use before actual use. Regards, Gareth.
  6. Sorry and thanks for the reply, to be honest, I, and most importantly my Mrs, haven't noticed any significant difference in the cars ride quality and comfort. If any of us had i would have changed the wheels back straight away. I couldn't find any definitive info either way anywhere so I'm drawing to the conclusion that it's just mileage related wear and tear. The ride quality is superb on the the 20's compared to my 16 plate DS 4 on 18's. Go figure that one!🤣🤣🤣
  7. Thank you for responding. That's a good point, maybe it's just me. It's not the roaring of the engine but can you perhaps hear something in the background, like a whirring that peaks around 0:23 and then continues steadily. I can hear it closer and louder than the engine noise. Also it doesn't seem to change as I move the steering wheel around.
  8. Any comment on the above Colin? I know you have seen it.

  14. Sorry Edward, I can not hear anything strange in your recording. It's not unusual that members post audio recordings in the hope that odd noises can be identitifed, but rarely can we hear the noise in question. You have become attuned to the noise so you can hear it much more readily than we can.
  15. Hey guys, I have a 2022 Audi A4. I was wondering if anyone has any idea what this noise is. It started recently and it's always faintly present but worse at higher speeds. Please see the audio below, also attached to the post. https://jumpshare.com/s/XgCbBgWRWPYWEI5k3ncw The noise really becomes apparent at 0:20 onwards, when I hit 40 mph. I can't quite describe it in words, it's a sort of high pitched noise constantly in the background and sounds like something rotating? Seems to be coming from the right side of the car. Any ideas? Thank you! Copy of AUDI noise.m4a
  16. Evidently it was a data socket she plugged into, which is what one would expect on modern cars in order to connect the infotainment system to a phone. Better to use a non data socket next time, or find a way in the menu to disable data transfer at the front socket, though would defeat the purpose of buying such a sophisticated system.
  17. A loose motor earth could easily explain the poor starting, but not the power drain. The 1.6 mA drain you reported is not believable. A car in good order and locked loses a few dozen milliamps normally, some 30 times your reading.
  18. Would raising the engine off its mounts give you enough clearance? It is what I would have done 40 years ago, but I do not know it if it is practical on your car.
  19. I questioned the brand and quality. And this was response. Offering a 2 year warranty, surely not a cheap knock off right? The new one should restart the 2 years again. They have been great to deal with though which makes a change from some garages ive used. And i will do as you suggested for paperwork. Thanks
  20. Hi did anyone ever find answers to this or have a garage find a solution please as I am experiencing the same with my A3?? Much appreciated
  21. So they will be fitting another brand this time - not ‘an OE equivalent’ but now the ‘same quality as the original’! OK, if it were mine, I would ask them to list the make of the latest one on the work sheet. 2 year warranty on this latest one and starting from now?
  22. If i do take my own part in, i’ll lose the warranty with the garage. Ive been assured it the same quality as original, not oe equivalent. After diagnostics im pretty sure it is thermostat issue. This is a pic of last drive
  23. Chances are the headlight is made by Hella. The original OE Audi version will be double that. Even if you're going after-market, then I'd opt for Hella. No point having adaptive headlights if they don't work.
  24. Pleasure, hope you can work something out. That’s a very nice number to have, and of course it’s unique! Kind regards, Gareth.
  25. Initial problems - DRL gone yellow, Headlight range control fault with one of the headlight Guys ordered a new aftermarket Headlight, headlight range control module, ballast, all fitted. Just found out one of the headlight was not adaptive! there are two types of headlights one without adaptive and one with adaptive! Will be ordering a new adaptive headlight which I believe it costs around £500! I think this this is the reason the car was initially showing headlight range fault in the first place. However after changing the level control module under the steering wheel , the fault has changed from headlight control fault to Adaptive headlight Fault! I could've just left it with the non adaptive headlight with the fault codes on (with DRL fixed) but the main headlight beam is facing downwards on the new headlight and cannot get this facing the road. All this back and forth with the garage and costing me dear. :(
  26. Hi All does anyone have a cross section of the inner door rubber seal (weatherstrip) mine is pretty worn out but looking at prices online for a new one (around £100) I’m looking for alternatives has anyone used anything aftermarket with any success? Many thanks in advance
