Parasitic loss is a bit vague. How many amps are being drained from the battery? The handbrake switch under the brake lever may be what you are hearing. It would be worth looking at its condition.

Has anyone experienced both banks having oil leaking out of the exhaust manifolds? I’ve been told could be injector seals or PCV??

That's better. Having some explanatory detail gives us a chance to provide some assistance. When you filled with oil did add the recommended measured quantity, or did you simply fill to the line on the dip stick?

Tell us what the second opinion was. The evidence you have presented so far all points to an air bag. The fact that it is fairly new does not mean it can not be defective.

Thank you

I will update. Thanks

Please keep us posted on how you get on. It could be the ram air causing the issue. Might be worth reverting to stock to see if that cures it.
-
I fitted a ram air 4weeks prior, I’ve got a new maf sensor coming tomorrow, so I’ll take it from there.
-
It certainly is! No matter how old the cars get the bills and parts remain expensive

Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 the Highlands are beautiful where abouts are you based? -
Not sure to be honest. You didn't fit an aftermarket air filter at the same time did you? I ask as the additional air coming through the maf sensor might be throwing it off.

That’s 4 supply only , quoted to a local garage ( could he be being a bit naughty)it seems in unbelievable 2 me, all I require is to get motor back on road, your thoughts would be appreciated. Alan

A3 2006 1.9tdi, changed oil and filters a month ago levels were correct, one month on oil level above max, no coolant loss or cream in filler cap, could it be diesel contamination. Bxe engine with approx 90,000 miles no other problems, runs well.
-
Thanks Alan, so is Audi’s £300 for supply and fit or supply only? Regards, Gareth.
-
Thanks Steve. already had a second opinion. Another would be a third. I was hoping this forum might be a good alternative

Welcome Martin, and thanks for joining. Regards, Gareth.

Saying it as I see it Glyn, I feel like the vet trying to diagnose what is wrong with the dog. We really do strive to be helpful, and unlike solicitors, we don’t charge by the word - we don’t charge at all, so how about sitting down for 15 mins and compiling a bit of a story about the problem-? Regards, Gareth.
-
Does that mean it uses a reservoir full of coolant in 2 to 2.5 K miles?
-
Electronic oil level sensors have reputation for unreliability, so it's likely you need to fit a new one. In the meantime refer to the physical dip stick if you have one.

Hi and thanks for allowing me to join. i have returned to the Audi fold after a few years away throwing my money at JLR products 😭😡🤬😭. I have previously owned the following Audis :- 2004 A3 3.2ltr V6 - brutal thing to drive and went for the S3. 2009 S3 in RS Blue - theft magnet, as I lived in London at the time. 5 attempts to break knto our house to get the keys, so I sold it back to Audi. Then finally a beautiful midnight blue 2007 A4 Avant 2.7 ltr Diesel FWD, which destroyed its gearbox at 10mph 🤬 So I have just bought a 2012 A4 B8 Black Edition saloon FWD with manual gearbox, and I have to say it has teally surprised me - nippy, nimble, fun to drive, and at £35 a year Tax, and 50+mpg, its a winner! slightly disappointed that Bluetooth for playing music and satnav aren’t fitted, but the car itself is in amazing condition. Not so sure the 35 profile tyres will like the state of our roads, so I will have to tread carefully.
