  2. Newsflash.....OK, managed to get a jack under the car, got the offside wheel off ( may I recommend the Parkside 400Nm ugga-dugga, very quick!) and had a look. Now I'm not an expert on these matters but the suspension height depends on what the little sensors on the body and attached to the lower suspension arm should be attached by a little cranked arm with ball joints on each end......the lower ball joint has disintegrated and the rod is dangling free.....this would cause the problem I'm having, yes? I dunno what the little cranked arm is called but I intend to replace both sides as a touch inspection of the nearside one feels very wobbly. Thoughts much appreciated folks.

  4. Hi folks Just picked up our lovely new SQ2, but have noticed straight away that when it's warm and sunny that MMI screen in particular gets very hot when parked in direct sun. Can anyone recommend a model-specific fitted SQ2 thermal/reflective windscreen sun shade to help keep things cooler? Just worried that the heat might damage it over time. I've seen some online from Australia but they're ££££! Grateful for any suggestions!
  5. Hi its under the thin one. It looks like a bracket mounted to the side of the engine. It has 2 bolts holding it on and looks like it may have a gasket. Thanks.
  6. Can anyone help please? I have had a full service done on my audi a6 2015 and the break pads sensor came up after 2 days the sensor turned off and the engine light came on. Went to a garage they scanned the car and it came up with maf sensor, so i got that replaced and they removed the engine light but after 10-15miles of driving it came back on, went again to the garage and same thing came up maf sensor.
  7. Hi everyone, I recently bought a 2023 A4 Avant 2.0 TFSI (left-side drive). Since I live in an area where car thefts are not that unusual, I want to make sure the car is not startable. Logistically I am fine with pulling the relays and/or fuses every time since the car will not be driven every day and is in a garage. Could you guys provide some opinions on the following ideas: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fuel-Pump control unit fuse -> Fuse 16 in ST1 in Relay and fuse carrier 1 -SR1- with fuse holder B -SB (Drivers foot support) This fuse is relatively easy to access (one screw) and should disable the fuel pump. Car will crank but no start. Starter Relay(s) -> R2 and R3 in Relay and fuse carrier 3 -SR3 Not sure how easy this is to access but from the picture in "fitting locations" it does not look too complicated. I also don't get it why are there two starter relays. Is one for the motor and one for the solenoid? If those relays are out car will not crank but the fuel pump will flood the cylinders. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Correct me if I'm wrong, but there shouldn't be any negative effects for the car by letting it sit for a couple of days without any of those fuses/relays. And did I find the correct fuses and locations for wanted effects? audi-a4-2015-fitting-locations-eng (1).pdf audi-a4-2015-wiring-diagrams-eng (1).pdf
  8. I have an 2018 Audi A3 1.0 TFSI Sport Sportback Euro 6 (s/s) 5dr FSH manual. Does this car have a timing belt , wet belt or chain? Can anyone guide me? thanks
  9. Thanks Brian, i will. 👍
  10. Hi, I used to own a a4 allroad b9, fitted with 245/45r18 inch tyres. the space saver tyre size you require is T125/70 R I9 et29. Hope this helps p.s. worth contacting The Wheel Shop. Brian.
  11. Hi all, the clutch on my 1.4 A4 seems really high. It doesn’t seem to be slipping, but if I do a spirited launch from standstill then there’s a squealing metallic sound from the engine bay just while the clutch is slipping until fully engaged. Doesn’t do it at low power takeoffs. Considering the mental cost of doing the clutch on these cars I’m considering whether I should gamble that it could go on like this for a long time or move it on before it fails. Could any fellow owners let me know if a high clutch biting point is normal on the 1.4?

  13. Spring should be ok as new top mount replaced, someone suggested it could be swaybar bushes…it’s so annoying and now my mechanic suggested going to an Audi specialist fgs…..
  14. Not sure what else to suggest. A mechanic will get a pry bar on the lower arm bushes. Any flex, then swap it out. On the bright side you’re rebuilding the front suspension piece by piece. 😉 Double check the coil spring hasn’t lost an end and it’s sitting properly. I’m sure if you had top mounts done that would have been spotted.
  15. Load it to YouTube and link it from there.
  16. Hi all. I have been through the search functions but still unsure as to what size space saver to get for my Allroad. I see people have bought a 19” and got it to fit in the boot. When checking the rolling circumference of these they do not match the rolling circumference of my 245/45 R 18 wheels and tyres. I assume as a 4 wheel drive , this is more important. The size of the space saver is 125/70 x 19. Any help appreciated
  17. Bless ya, please keep us posted on how you get on
  18. You are welcome Andrew, but surely worth walking back to the first bus stop and using some words of introduction, and let the forum know if you want to sell one, or buy one - or something else. Regards, Gareth.
  19. After work turned on radio and all were missing, but then after a couple of flashes were back. Oxford area.
  20. So are you going to try Parts in Motion?

  22. Bottom front splitter for my audi a4 b8 dynamic model.
  23. OK folks, newsflash. Ade dropped by a few minutes back, plugged in his scanner (a Snapon multi vehicle with a VCDS connector) but it couldn't find any module related to suspension. Okaaay.....so we discussed the sequence of what actually occurred and in his opinion bearing in mind the age of the car (19 years old this September) he thought it very likely that one (or possibly both) suspension bag had an ongoing leak and the third speed bump just massively increased it, and as the compressor had probably been running near non-stop a failure of the relay and compressor was most likely. He's dropping by tomorrow with a jack that can get under the car, we can hoik the wheels off and have a look at the legs. Stay tuned.

    DAB Radio

Yes my Dab started losing signal yesterday intermittently, today this pm has completely gone.
  25. Under the thick black hose or the thin one Ian?
  26. Anyone know where the fuel filter is on the 1.5 TFSI 2018 A3? I'm assuming it has one?
  27. I had the same problem. The key seemed solidly locked when trying to turn it. Strange solution was to press hard on the metal cover of the roof. Press on the outside RIGHT (driver's side UK) while turning the key. That has worked a few times for me.
