Help: Audi A6 (C8) 2019 PPI and service record advise
Magnet replied to Arsenal2006's topic in Audi A6 (C8) Forum
Hello Riyss, So much data to read and understand. I don’t know what the regulations are in your country, but here, any vehicle driven on tyres with 1mm of tread (if I’ve read correctly) would be illegal and I would guess - worldwide? - any owner driving on such tyres would not be demonstrating a high regard for their vehicle’s maintenance. Aren’t there any others to choose from? Regards, Gareth.- 2 replies

Now that I'm not sure. It's a risk for sure. Might be smooth seeking the advice from an auto electrician on that one.

Well done for tackling it yourself. Does your local motor factors not carry the bolt size in stock?
-
Oh wow, great stuff Tony 😊 sorry I've not arranged shows this year. Since my Audi is off the road and my mate Jack emigrated with his TT I've lost the heart to organise the stands.

Full battery won't start. A6 c6 f4 allroad 3lt
Marcin Z replied to grim's topic in Audi A6 (C6) Forum
Would it make sense to try and start it with jump leads? If it starts then you know starter is ok, and maybe the issue lies with the battery. In any case you will probably need to do this if you are planning to take it to a garage to get the battery tested. -

Hi The Bromley Motoring Pageant is on 27th July. It is down at The South of England Show Ground now. I used to show my Lotus there, so I had a E-Mail to from them for this year. I replied to tell them the Lotus was gone but I now have the Audi E Tron GT. Much to my surprise they want me to show it as the "Way to the Future". I will send you the pictures. Tony

Hi all, I’m looking to take over pre-owned Audi A6 (C8) registered in nov 2020 car in the coming week. I did a PPI (reputable Audi 3rd party workshop) and requested agent service record from current owner. PPI company also suggested on repair cost (shown in Singapore dollar) . See photo 1-8 for PPI report. See photo 9-14 for Audi agent service report. I’m a little bothered that many issues has been flagged out and things has been replaced in a short age the car. Also, in the last 1y3 months the car was driven +/-27,000km (given that I’m living in Singapore, this is considered high mileage). Only comfort is that the car is regularly serviced and maintained by Audi. 1. Have you encountered any of the error codes shown in the PPI report? 2. And is the parts replaced by Audi is a concern/sign of abused car by current and previous owner ? 3. What service and repair cost am I looking at for this car at current mileage (91,000km) and beyond? 4. should I get Audi extended warranty ? Or should I look for 3rd party workshop for warranty? 5. Please enlighten me on wear and tear to look out for? I’m looking to own this car for roughly 3 years Car details: Model: Audi A6 (c8) Registered: Nov 2020 Current mileage: 91,000km Number of previous owners: 2 Under Audi warranty: Yes, expires in 5 months or when 100,000km Last service done: May 2025 by Audi agent Concerns: • DRL is yellow. Believe the led is burnt. Saw couple of post in Reddit and YT. Not sure if it’s foc under agent warranty. • Emergency SOS module known to have other electronic issues. • Oil leak detected. • fault code detected during scan. See photo Feel free to ask me more details of the car if I’ve missed out anything. Many thanks in advance for all your feedback. Cheers!

cesar started following Loss of Favourites in MMI
-
Hello Perhaps this may help, I got a new Q3 that switches the radio station in the morning, I thought it was random and reported SEVERAL times to AUDI and the answer was always evasive. After many trials I was able to replicate in a consistent way the problem as follows. 1- Save some radio station into favorites, lets call A, B, C 2- Play some music on radio station B, 3- move to FM and chose radio station ZZ without saving it to favorites!! 4- Go back to favorites, and the radio station should be still B 5- Switch off the car and wait around 5 minutes 6- Turn the car and you will see how for a half of a second the radio station B will be displayed and then, the radio will move out of Favorites and tune the radio station you chose in step 3 --> ZZ I documented this with a lot of videos. I have claimed to Audi, they changed the steering wheel buttons, the radio, programmed it several times and still they haven't solved the problem, but the last time they acknowledged to know the problem since 2021!!! there is a TPI that describes EXACTLY what i have reported but of course this wont be disclosed as it. So conclusion, the problem is not a problem is "normal" to some Audio MMI systems but even a 10 USD radio bought online will keep the station in the favorites !!

Gt1984 started following P0670 fault
-
Evening, recently purchased A6 2018 2.0TDI and had the glow plug relay changed twice after the EML came on with the p0670 fault code. Clearly it's not two new relays, the fault once cleared comes back after about 3-4 engine starts which suggests it is an intermittent fault. The last autoelec that checked said all 4 Glow plugs are fine and also the GP fuse is GOOD changed the relay and light came back on😭. I'm thinking to get the GP fuse changed anyway not sure of location of the fuse if anyone knows the location? or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Audi A6 SE 2.0 TDI 90ps 38000mls

Hellsfire555 started following 1.9tdi e (bls) DPF removal? and SQ5 Smell
-
I gutted my DPF after many attempts to clean it with all sorts of chemicals/soap etc etc i now have a smokey smell and the mrs hates it,wasnt sure wether it was all that crap i pumped thru it?? or that its because it hasnt got a DPF now??? can you describe the smell??
-
I took mine out opened it up and gutted it and welded it back up (it CAN be done without dropping the subframe) it was a bit tight ....i also blocked off the EGR and had to pay £250 to have a remap to turn off the DPF light (delete) it has gone trhu 2 mots since but was a bit smokey ....there is an american on utube who showed it being done but he did replace it with a straight pipe ,which you cant do in this country unfortunately.
-
just noticed i have a esp warning light telling me to check the manual???
-
cheers for reply....i checked the battery and read 12.9 .....when running 14.9 so all as should be i guess?? just gonna disconnect and leave for half hour to see if that resets summat.

Okay thank you yes I was thinking that this would be the case alright would I be able to take connectors from the saloon and solder the wiring into the estate connectors the same and wires are the same colours going to each pin also after I replace the ccm will have to reprogram the ccm ?
-
Evening everyone, Starter solenoid went so decided to change myself. If anyone is tempted to give this a go here are some tips. Make sure you have tools and axle stands or its a tough job. I couldn't get it out without taking the engine mount. Some good videos on YouTube. The hardest part is one of the Allen bolts from the top engine mount that is obscured by the exhaust. The other top one is accessible with lots of extensions and a Wobblies. Looking for a part number for the stretch bolts (x3 18m main bolts) Any help would be apreciated.

I think it's clipped on. You might find it's cheaper to replace the whole airbag from a used one from eBay.

Might be worth getting the battery checked to see if it's working as it should. As a failing battery can cause these symptoms
-
They're not interchangeable. You need to swap the failed part out for one that has the exact same part number
-
Also lights not able to go full beam and indicators not working, also wipers not working???? just praising how the car was performing yesterday....put the kybosh on it i feel.........does anyone know a possible reason?? i have checked the alternator and seems fine.

Hello just after buying 2003 C5 a6 avant I bought the car assuming ccm was the issue for all interior issues. Took it out and I was right but the connectors are destroyed with corrosion. I have a 2001 saloon a6 but the ccm does not match it is only one digit off on the part number the avant has an N and the sallon a K would I be able to use this ccm. I must now try to cut connectors off and solder in new connectors if somebody knows if these ccms are interchangeable that would be very helpful thanks

The first thing to eliminate/incriminate is the battery. Halfords stores or probably your local motor factors can test its efficiency - under load. Please let us know how you get on. If you need to replace the battery, then buy once and wisely. The forum can advise you on this.
