Hi magnet. Thanks for you're reply. Intially the car would crank but not turn over. The cranking became a slower more of a lethargic crank. They have fitted a new starter motor now and the car does start and turn over. Its just the module issue i have to try and solve. I do have the diagnostic report with the code and description.

What Model year - I’ve been having a nightmare looking through used S6 savants trying to find full options and they all have FBSW but say ‘adaptive cruise control’ which i keep thinking they have it wrong. Assuming the newer models now have it with?

David. Zooming your pictures shows the meter to be set to the 0-20 amp scale, so the readings refer to amps not milliamps. That information confirms there is a significant power drain and explains the battery going flat overnight. Previous similar problems on this forum show that pulling fuses has not helped in diagnosing the fault, so I suggest you get the car to an electrician who will be able to test individual circuits. Before doing that please confirm you have not fitted any auxilliary equipment such as a dash cam or sat nav etc. that is connected to a permanent live supply, i.e. a supply that is not switched off by the ignition key.

A6 c8 quattro slow start from the spot issue or not?
Optimus replied to Mike2020 40 tdi quattro's topic in Audi A6 (C8) Forum
Are you talking about two different models here? The 50TDI is not the same as the 40TDI there has always been a software patch for the 50TDI in fact it was known to be worse until this patch for the auto boxes. The 40TDI is a manual dual clutch with automatic selector. This issue is still very much prevalent and has been no ECU/Drivetrain software updates specifically for hesitation on pull away (least I’m aware of?). -
Cassy. If you want meaningful opinions you need to be much more specific in telling us what parts of the car were damaged and repaired. All you have mentioned so far is the vague "I had a panal beater paint the bumper and fix some damage". As for the water in the boot, that could be window wash water from the wiper motor as Richard pointed out. It was a common problem in that model, and therefore possibly unrelated to the body repairs. Test the rear wash function to be certain.

Welcome Carl, When you say the car wouldn’t start, do you mean the car would crank over (energetically?) but would not start, or it just wouldn’t crank over? Regards, Gareth.

Carl h89 started following B200047 fault code

Hi every one I was looking for a bit of advice or if any of you have had the same issue. My car wouldn't start up one morning so got it over to a garage. They said the starter had failed so they organised fitting a new one. On the diagnostic report it had a fault code of B200047. They changed the starter and reported back to me the steering has become heavy this was due to the fault code B200047. I hadn't noticed anything wrong with the steering prior to the no start. They have advised a pas module replacement and the steering rack. The reason for the rack replacement is because they said the module isnt sold separately. As you can imagine the cost has risen significantly. I've read that sometimes the car just requires a software update. And that alternative option to having a full refit is to remove the module and send it of for repair. Ive seen mixed posts where its been successful. Has anyone had this code before ?. I also have the diagnostic report of the car. Thanks in advance. Carl.

Images of the scales are too in distinct to offer any advice. Really didn’t expect the earth to make any difference to the drain. Reserve judgement until, you have removed the alternator plug and checked if the battery still runs down overnight. If that doesn’t sort it, I would seriously recommend you seek the assistance of a trusted local electrician. You really don’t want to be playing with the electrics on these unless you are experienced in doing so.

So to answer the question the light within the left hand side of the tailgate was not part of the repair work -? -
Water pooling in spare Tire bay - possibly due to incorrect

The insurance company is re opening the file and asking an assessor to investigate and they will give the panel beater a chance to look into it. My worry is that they will say it had nothing to do with them and not explain how the water is getting in. 🤔 Will update with progress ❤️ -
Sorry, not understanding the last bit.

The rear bumper was painted but unsure if they take the part off to paint it. The insurance job was for more the side of the car and on the corner of the passenger side bumper. -
Evening all, soooo (bangs head on coffee table) As you are aware by now i,m more mech based then electrical! below are images from multi meter connect in series with the battery. 4.48 is with all fuses in 1.86 is with just the radio fuse removed. |( not sure why the radio would be a problem now?) with the loose starter earth removed made no difference, all fuses out has no draw at all which is expected i assume. It has to be something i have fiddled with? the heat shield from the engine mount was touching the back of the alternator point so not sure if that would have an impact? immobiliser? how do i check that? i haven't taken any plugs off the back of the alternator yet so not sure if that is drawing power? that will be my next job, leave all fuses in and just disconnecting alternator to see if the draw drops. After that i'm not sure where to go? Thanks in advance.

well, The carbon clean was done today using hydrogen, Time will tell if this makes a difference as im still not really driving it. Although i think it may sound a bit better, The code reading date found lots of misfire codes etc, Upon reading the live data, The air mass meter was going crazy, So i ordered a new 1 today which comes on Monday, Im also going to probably replace the 8 coil packs, as it was showing a few codes for that. And somebody has changed a few as there is a mixture of red and black coils currently. What colour are oem meant to be , red or black ? The injectors all looked ok apparently, which is good Hopefully the air mass will solve it, with a combination of coil packs also. The plugs have been done so i wont change those for now unless the other bits dont work. If the air mass meter and coils solve it ill be happy. At least his not told me its 8 injectors lol The air mass sensor was a hard thing to get, GSF, euro car parts and others all listed it but nobody had it. Now has to come from Germany Roll on Monday

Start/stop shudder on startup even with mild hybrid
steviewevie posted a topic in Audi A4 (B9) Forum
I own a 2022 A4 tfsi with mild hybrid. Car is incredibly smooth including engine restarts when on the move, but when stationary a restart after a period of engine shutdown is really rough. I thought the mild hybrid was supposed to make auto restarts smooth? -

Followed the handbook guidelines with tyres and got the alignment done once fitted, offset was as not an issue as they were Audi A6 wheels.

Hello Colin, Let’s get back to basics and ask:- What was the tyre size on your original 17 inch wheels? What is the tyre size on the 20 inch wheels?

Maybe coincidence but I found today that if someone is sat in the passenger seat or rear seat the beeping didn’t happen. Wondering if it’s something to do with a sensor? Does this happen to yours? Maybe it’s just all interconnected who knows at this point!

By which time the engine may be damaged. How does that compare to the cost of a new level sensor?

Fair enough. As long as you are satisfied with the car.

My q3 sportback has been to Audi three times. The last time they told me it was within Audi parameters. So I said, you are telling me Audi have built in this really annoying noise on a 45k car. I contacted Audi customer service and it is booked in again for them to have another look. I have said they should check the turbo as a boost leak would make that noise and also the the relief valve in the suspension pump. I will post if I get an answer. Hope you find out what yours is.

Thank you. I'll monitor it and see if I can make the sound more pronounced. It could be in my head as in London it's rare to get up to 40mph!
