  1. Past hour
  2. Interesting, does each wheel have a sensor and battery?
  3. ... On another forum a member had loads of written exchanges with the DVLA / DVSO on the same subject and they just shrugged a lot.
  4. Today
  5. Well done for having a look. Glad carpets are dry and no mayo. Yep separate systems. The AC system will leak water out to some degree. Glad you've got a warranty. You keep putting pressure on the dealer to sort. Please keep us posted on how you get on 🙂
  6. Sorry I missed this. So glad you've got it back. You've done a great job and the cars s credit to you 🙂 Have you managed to change the wheels and finding the cause of the cold start issue?
  7. You're welcome 🙂
  8. Hi Steve Thank you for the reply No mayo on the oil filler cap, no smoke out the exhaust, carpets are dry. We do have a very good 6 months warranty on the car, so will speak to the dealer. The expansion tank cap seems to seal well, I will also check for a crack. Odd question this, when we use the A/C, could that be a part of the problem, or are they completely separate systems. Thanks again
  9. Thank you.
  10. Brilliant mate, glad you stuck with it and got it sorted. Well done.
  11. Fantastic news, thank you for updating us 🙂
  12. Did you get the new battery coded to the car? It needs to be for full functionality.
  13. SOLVED. I found an index for code in the Steering Column control unit, 3 of the values were incorrect, rewritten - warning symbols have disappeared and power steering is working again. Thank you for the advice.
  14. Welcome Dermot, thanks for joining, and sorry to hear of your issue. Please allow me to be direct:- it doesn’t matter if anyone else has had this issue - you have, and it’s unacceptable! To me, the all important thing is that you have everything written down as a record, including phone calls and responses. Not meaning to be personal, but is there any degree of finance involved with this car? If so, you would be wise to notify them in writing of this issue, and state that you will be rejecting the vehicle if not correctly fixed by ‘x’ date. Obviously copy the dealer and Audi Customer Services. Please keep us updated Dermot, and let us know if we can help further. Regards, Gareth.
  15. Definitely could be a sensor (or the battery in the sensor at least). A diagnostic check would tell you.
  16. Don't forget your consumer law. If the item (car, TV etc) goes faulty in the first 6 months of purchase it is assumed the fault was there when you purchased it, therefore you're entitled to a refund. So the dealer you bought it from should fix this. If you've bought it on finance (even partially) then you could ring your finance company, explain the situation and tell them "the vehicle isn't fit for purpose" and as such you want to end the finance agreement. This should get the finance company to get involved and hopefully sort it quicker. As let's be honest, a finance company has a bigger legal team than you or I. Besides this: Are the carpets wet? If so could be a leaking heater matrix. Could be caused by a cracked expansion tank. Failed expansion tank cap. Is there any white smoke out of the exhaust? Is there any mayo looking substance whee you'd put oil in?
  17. You might find that the airbag system can't just be reset from a regular code reader and might need to be done by an Audi independent specialist or Audi.

  19. Hi thanks for that, no I'm not in NZ, I just ordered a part that didnt work from there. I can't get back to dealer for a good while so was hoping to sort it myself.
  20. If you've bought this within the last 30 days then it's down to the dealer too fix free of charge, assuming consumer law is the same in new Zealand as it is here in the UK.
  21. Possibly it's the air con. My wife's Yeti purrs like a cat when the AC is running.
  22. No probs please keep us posted on how you get on
  23. Hi all, I've searched for this answer but to no avail .... I've a nice 2015 A4 S-Line Avant 2.0 TFSI Japanense Import and I need to get the FM radio working. I believe I need a band shifter which moves the band freq up into the range we use, ie 88 to 108. I source one from NZ but didnt work, what has anyone done to get their's working ? TIA Brian
  24. yes everything has been checked it seams to be the tyres ,being 17" low profile ones, that is why i am looking for 16" ones and wheels to try i have soundproofed the floor/under wheel arches and boot and bonnet , but on a piece of rough road (normal in this country )the road noise is verey load ,on a smooth road it is great ??
  25. Thanks for the response
  26. HI all, just joined today out of frustration of my dealer. New model A5 Quattro Avant 2025 bought in April and car has developed a software fault that leaves it dangerous and undriveable. Car has been with Audi Belfast for 4 weeks waiting on a 'software update' but I keep getting told its coming next week... Dash lights up and says 'steering failure' whilst the steering wheel vibrates quite hard. Anyone else has this issue in the new models ? video here https://www.linkedin.com/posts/dermot-cunnie-1063b115_cars-used-to-have-to-go-back-to-the-dealer-activity-7343265598153383936-bbEe?utm_source=social_share_send&utm_medium=member_desktop_web&rcm=ACoAAAMVdlYBcHZwBJdsFO8DtowtS-dswxNylzk
  27. Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. I have a 2017 Audi a3 2.0 TDI that had a very minor bump to the passenger front corner. The airbag light came on and I have changed the sensors (both sensors in bonnet hinges and also 2 at front) it was showing but airbag light is still on. I have now found the cut wire but don’t know where this has come from, so I need a wiring diagram to possibly help me identify where it is from. I have attached a pic of the fault codes and also the cut wire. Thanks in advance
