After a few minutes, car beeps at me and the clock turns off
cliffcoggin replied to eemew57's topic in Audi Q2 Club
Did you get the new battery coded to the car? It needs to be for full functionality. -
SOLVED. I found an index for code in the Steering Column control unit, 3 of the values were incorrect, rewritten - warning symbols have disappeared and power steering is working again. Thank you for the advice.

Welcome Dermot, thanks for joining, and sorry to hear of your issue. Please allow me to be direct:- it doesn’t matter if anyone else has had this issue - you have, and it’s unacceptable! To me, the all important thing is that you have everything written down as a record, including phone calls and responses. Not meaning to be personal, but is there any degree of finance involved with this car? If so, you would be wise to notify them in writing of this issue, and state that you will be rejecting the vehicle if not correctly fixed by ‘x’ date. Obviously copy the dealer and Audi Customer Services. Please keep us updated Dermot, and let us know if we can help further. Regards, Gareth.

Definitely could be a sensor (or the battery in the sensor at least). A diagnostic check would tell you.

Don't forget your consumer law. If the item (car, TV etc) goes faulty in the first 6 months of purchase it is assumed the fault was there when you purchased it, therefore you're entitled to a refund. So the dealer you bought it from should fix this. If you've bought it on finance (even partially) then you could ring your finance company, explain the situation and tell them "the vehicle isn't fit for purpose" and as such you want to end the finance agreement. This should get the finance company to get involved and hopefully sort it quicker. As let's be honest, a finance company has a bigger legal team than you or I. Besides this: Are the carpets wet? If so could be a leaking heater matrix. Could be caused by a cracked expansion tank. Failed expansion tank cap. Is there any white smoke out of the exhaust? Is there any mayo looking substance whee you'd put oil in?
-
You might find that the airbag system can't just be reset from a regular code reader and might need to be done by an Audi independent specialist or Audi.

Hi thanks for that, no I'm not in NZ, I just ordered a part that didnt work from there. I can't get back to dealer for a good while so was hoping to sort it myself.
-
If you've bought this within the last 30 days then it's down to the dealer too fix free of charge, assuming consumer law is the same in new Zealand as it is here in the UK.

No probs please keep us posted on how you get on

HI all, just joined today out of frustration of my dealer. New model A5 Quattro Avant 2025 bought in April and car has developed a software fault that leaves it dangerous and undriveable. Car has been with Audi Belfast for 4 weeks waiting on a 'software update' but I keep getting told its coming next week... Dash lights up and says 'steering failure' whilst the steering wheel vibrates quite hard. Anyone else has this issue in the new models ? video here https://www.linkedin.com/posts/dermot-cunnie-1063b115_cars-used-to-have-to-go-back-to-the-dealer-activity-7343265598153383936-bbEe?utm_source=social_share_send&utm_medium=member_desktop_web&rcm=ACoAAAMVdlYBcHZwBJdsFO8DtowtS-dswxNylzk

Azzy28 started following HELP! Airbag light wiring issue
-
Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. I have a 2017 Audi a3 2.0 TDI that had a very minor bump to the passenger front corner. The airbag light came on and I have changed the sensors (both sensors in bonnet hinges and also 2 at front) it was showing but airbag light is still on. I have now found the cut wire but don’t know where this has come from, so I need a wiring diagram to possibly help me identify where it is from. I have attached a pic of the fault codes and also the cut wire. Thanks in advance

Hi to you all We have a 2013 cabriolet with 75k on the clock and a full Audi service history, owned her for about a month now and are enjoying the open top driving so much. However, recently on a long run back from relatives the coolant level indicator came on, so stopped and checked the level and needed to top her up with 1/2 a litre of coolant, bought at the garage I stopped at. 2 weeks later, the coolant level indicator came on again, only this time telling us to stop immediately and turn the engine off, we did this and checked the level again, only this time it was right at the bottom of the coolant reservoir. My question is, are there any known problems with the coolant levels on this model, I cannot see any obvious leaks or wet patches when I move the car from a standing position off my drive. Any help will be gratefully received, we really love this car and my wife - who owns the car wants to make we can sort out the issue. Thanks in advance for any help

MMI my Audi Login Issue: solved.
Artc replied to X111TAV's topic in Audi Audio / DashCams / Electronics / Security
HI, Worthwhile trying, but didn't work for me. I redeployed the app and changed the pwd & got as the reset - did a "soft-reset" .. meaning holding the volume control knob for ± 15 secs . When it comes up I see it verifying my original/current key user (lets say XXX) for access ... and then I get the user dialog. XXX is still listed alongside 'Guest' but I cannot apply its settings (tech error) .. I cannot delete XXX .. and I cannot add a new user with the new password: "technical errors" everywhere. The only option I see is do a full factory reset (the nuclear option) .. but I understand I may need dealer approval with registering a new user 😞 So still stuck ... This whole key user thing has always been unstable; I had issues with my last Audi too and had to leave it at the dealer. In any case, if anyone has any suggestions/advice it would be welcome -

Hi cliff yes i know how to reset the tpms. What’s failing is that it seems to register inconsistent pressure on the front tyres, both set at 2.6 bar but TPMS is reading way above this.

regdp started following Driver's Door Window Switch Problem
-
Hello, I'm new to the forum and seeking suggestions on how to identify a problem with my electric windows. Issue is that the windows move when I lower and raise the hood, but the multi switch on the driver's side does not work. I ordered a replacement switch from eBay and this also didn't work. I've investigated the wiring in the door hinge but there are no obvious breakages. I've heard that it could be a faulty window motor and have ordered a used replacement from eBay. It arrives tomorrow. If this doesn't solve the problem I'm not sure what to do next. Does anyone have any suggestions? Many thanks

2021 A4 - Rotational Noise (Not Balancing)
mt1982sheff replied to mt1982sheff's topic in Audi A4 (B9) Forum
Just to follow up on this, had the car in for a diagnostic after going through the motions of trying to eliminate the cause of the noise. Turns out its the gearbox. Warranty company are trying to impose a cap on hourly labour charges (despite being purchased with unlimited labour costs!) meaning no garages will undertake the works, I'm also now 3 weeks past 6 months of owning the car so got a fight on both sides to either get it repaired or try and reject. Has anyone had any luck going down the rejection route after 6 months? On a plus the video shows the noise was present within the 6 months so could use that to some degree hopefully. -
Hello Charles, If this were mine, I would be seeking advice on your air suspension issue from BagpipingAndy ( obviously up your neck of the woods). He is the guru on these systems, and may well have come across this before with this model. You will find him on EBay. Try searching ‘air suspension compressor piston ring’ or similar. Please let us know how you get on. Regards, Gareth.

Sorry to hear you're still having issues. Keep fighting because they'd love to charge you for the work if it was out of warranty!
-
Thanks Gerry, Current mileage and mileages at which it’s been serviced during its 8 years? Who will you be entrusting the servicing to? At only 5k/a, if were mine, it would be having it serviced every year, since low mileages can be hard on a vehicle. We cover about the same miles a year with our A3 - now on 176K, and if it helps, I can outline what I do annually. “Inspection interval”? Maybe, whoever serviced it last didn’t reset the system-? Maybe due a brake fluid change if this coincides with the car’s anniversary of first registration? Regards, Gareth.

Appears to be sorted but looking for a C8 specialist once the warranty expires as I've lost total confidence with the main dealer customer services management. I found a dealer with decent customer servers but as soon as they had to escalate for clearance I encountered feedback from someone who shouldn't be in this type of roll. I still have lots CAN bus communications errors but can't get Audi to do anything about them, TADS (they all do that sir) but I work in data communications and don't agree. It's either poor module firmware or a loose fibre/copper connection. If I had access to the schematics and module / connections location I'd go through it myself once out of warranty but I cant find these anywhere. Cheers for the chase.
