  6. Steve. I have hidden your original duplicate topic. It's perfectly fine to reply to your own topic if you have extra information to add.
  7. Today
  8. Send us some photos of the issue Steve.
  9. Hi..have the fault code P001600 code. Reads “ crank shaft position-camshaft position correlation bank 1 sensor A “ basically more frequently now I have an issue starting but it always does start drives and runs fine. Economy still good. Performance still good. Belt tensioners and pump changed around 30,000 ago. Now done 156,000. I’m hoping it’s just a bad sensor..where is the camshaft sensor located? Is it under the belt cover! Easy job? Or NOT? Audi A3 2.0TDI 8P
  10. Hi All, I've got a Q8 where the pop out side sunshade for one of the rear doors has a a bad crease in it it looks like the corner of the fabric has come away from the metal frame. is there a way to fix this easily as Audi want to replace the entire unit at £600 inc fitting which seems pretty exorbitant? Has anyone else had the same problem and managed to fix it? Is there a car interior fabric/upholster that may be able to help? Would appreciate some help. Huge thanks, AA
  11. Glad you got sorted 🙂
  12. Undoubtedly they will help if you pay them lots of money. Subscription services are a nasty increasing trend amongst car makers recently. BMW tried it a few years ago in regard to some of the luxury features that required an annual payment for continued operation.
  13. My wife's Yeti has the stop/start system which I surmise from watching its operation works as follows. The stop/start control constantly measures the battery voltage when the engine is stopped to ensure there is enough power left to restart the engine. Urban driving involving many stops/starts without enough time between stops to fully recharge the battery will be sensed by the control which then prevents engine stops when stationary. Add to this the load imposed by the AC system in hot weather and stops may not happen at all. All of this requires a special kind of battery (AGM) which needs to be in tip top condition for the function to work. That's why one of the first symptoms of a failing battery is that the stop/start system does not engage. Personally I am undecided if the system is worthwhile if you take the wider view of the overall impact on the environment. Does the fuel and emission saving balance the extra wear on starter motors and batteries which then require replacement using more materials and energy? I don't know because I can not quantify the two sides of the equation, and as a scientist at heart verifiable facts are important to me.
  14. Read the advice on the sensor bought one on Amazon replaced it after watching it on You Tube and it’s cured the issue
  15. Hi. If I read correctly data sheets, then both models (55 and 60) use the same electric motor (same power). In EV only mode they behave the same - max 130kw of power (same 10s acceleration to 100kmh), but in combined mode the 55 version limits electric motor performance to caa 50kw. If above asumption is correct then there is only SW limitation, since the HW electronics needs to support max 130kw power in only EV mode?
  16. This is what it should look like
  17. That's a good idea as they set it up for you. Or try Audi customer services
  18. Hi Steve Q, Thank you for your reply. I have tried the app and it just tells me I have to pay to reinstate the function (Adaptive cruise control). The system has also reverted me to a guest user and removed me as a named user that the Audi dealer set me up with when I bought the car earlier this year. I think I am going to have to pop into the main dealer nearest me. Do you think they would be of any help? Kind regards
  19. Sorry I'd drafted a reply but I've just seen this morning that I didn't hit submit - should be showing now
  20. Nice, similar to me, I've also done the same amount of miles! Would it be possible to send me a picture of the engine please? Does your engine have an engine cover? Basically my car had a service and investigation and not long after I got it back from the garage my coolant light came on, so I popped the bonnet and when I did that I thought my engine cover is missing. I'd had the bonnet open a few times in the previous months so I'm certain there was an engine cover there, but now the garage is telling me that this model of car doesn't have an engine cover. I feel I could bet my life that there was an engine cover and my first thought when I opened the bonnet was that it was missing.
  21. I really like the Irish sense of humour!
  22. Keep us posted on how you get on.
  23. No problem Gareth , im sure your probably right , as I tell people I consider myself " an optimistic pessimist " Im optimistic that it will always go wrong ! 😀
  24. Hello again John, Apologies, but I’m having a ‘say it as I see it day’, and I think you are seriously overthinking this wheel bearing noise issue. Let’s hope nothing else occurs to engage a worrying mind, and if it is, it’s not too serious! Sorry John. Kind regards, Gareth.
  25. I will see how it goes for a few days but after that would expect the dealer to give me a FOC solution given I have only done approx 3000 miles.
  26. Hello Alan, We all have varying opinions on the pos and cons of Stop/Start systems - as you will see via. a forum search. Straight talking personal opinion:- If I were you I would be clapping my hands that this engineeringly averse system isn’t working. If your views differ on the environmental benefits, then it might be worth considering the never-mentioned hundreds of thousands of tonnes of low grade fuel burnt in the atmosphere by aircraft every day. If you want it working ‘because it’s fitted and so it should be woking’, then the answer lies in using the car fa more frequently - which is of course environmentally averse! Our non-Audi behaves like yours because it can sit for a couple of weeks without use, prior to a 180 mile round trip - after which it occasionally wakes up, and I have to remember to isolate it! Yes, you can take it to the dealer Alan, and have some funds extracted from your wallet, and then discuss the possibility of them fitting a new battery (possibly at you expense), but I believe the answer lies in ‘fair bit of urban driving’. Regards, Gareth.
