-

Pd engine is a very reliable engine. Check for mayo round the oil filler. Might be worth getting the engine pressure tested. Obviously worse case scenario is a head gasket.

2021 A4 - Rotational Noise (Not Balancing)
Steve Q replied to mt1982sheff's topic in Audi A4 (B9) Forum
Sorry to hear this. If the warranty company are refusing to honour the unlimited labour rate then I'd argue this is warranty has been miss sold. So the dealer is partly responsible for this. I'd open a case with the motoring ombudsman but you'll be waiting 4 months for a case to be assigned. -
O2 sensor signal stuck lean; bank 1 sensor 2 issue.
Steve Q replied to Abertawe1972's topic in Audi A7 Club
If bought from a dealer they should fix this free of charge in the first 30 days after sale. -
Yeah it’s very annoying this is my last issue tho hahaha hopefully 🤞 I have a pd130 awx code
-
Might be worth getting a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up
-
Sorry to hear of your other issue. What engine has the car got?
-
Please keep us posted on any developments.
-
Well every day is a school day. Never heard of this issue before.
-
Wowsers that's expensive for a dpf. Definitely worth getting a forced regen and/or get the dpf physically cleaned out.
-
Yes, they do lock automatically if the doors or boot aren’t opened, following the car being opened with the fob. No, it should not lock if the key is in the ignition.
-
So all we now need to know is exactly what has been replaced at the various services and when.
-
Audi number is 032121065b If you want to google it. Its a pain of a job to do so only want to do it once hence the metal one if I can find one, Have a good weekend,
-
Yeah will do, I did read somewhere it relocks itself if it does'nt register a door being opened will have to look if the dash display shows the door open. Thanks for your reply have a good weekend

No, the fob batteries will not cause that. It might be worth looking at the wires inside the rubber bellows between door and frame. Fracture of those wires is a common fault in other models.
-
I have never heard of this problem until reading of it here. If the failure is because the pipe is plastic maybe you should have one fabricated in rubber.
-
Sorry I didnt realise you asked, I though you meant how much current mileage we do. Sitting on 51k currently. Also, I'd welcome recommendations for a local independent in Birmingham and surrounding area.

I've decided to postpone my appointment with Audi, I need the car. Also, the car is running ok, so I'll just keep monitoring it for the time being.

Any particular reason you are not telling us the current mileage then? This will dictate the work necessary from here on, so unless you do, you aren’t going to get sensible suggestions for going forward. Print out not showing work carried out? Usually highly abbreviated but generally there. Just post a photo and we should be able to help.

So, I took the convertible out this morning, keeping it in normal performance before it warmed up. After about a mile, I got the flashing glow-plug symbol, and a reduction in power. 🤔 I got to my destination, and switched off. When I restarted, the DPF warning came up, but without the glow-plug lamp, and performance was normal. Now up to normal temperatures, I drove it at 70 in fourth gear for about three miles, but on restart, the DPF symbol is still there. I sat on the driveway with the engine idling, and Carly plugged in. It came up with an odd code - something to do with intermittent signal from the seat belt circuit, and not connected to anything about the engine, so I cleared and rescanned - clean...🤔 I'm going to take it for a spin this afternoon with Carly plugged in to see if anything comes to light. I spoke to my mate at Norwich Audi, who tells me that a forced DPF re-gen is £200 - but advised me to shop around. He also mentioned, in passing, that a new DPF was £2,500... 😱 So, I've got it provisionally booked in at CAT Automotive next Friday, for investigation. Their comment was that they need to see why the DPF isn't re-genning on its own, and cure that problem, rather than just addressing the symptom and forcing a re-gen. I'll keep updating this thread - but please jump in with ideas... Cheers, Mike 😎

I had mine plugged it don't really come up with much they are saying it's a electrical fault between gearbox and brain of car
