  2. Hi, On my 2008 B7 A4 Cabriolet, one of the electric wing mirrors has stopped moving when I try to adjust it via the internal adjustment knob. It's been like this for about 6 months. The strange thing is, over the past six months, I've tried it every week, hoping it would fix itself. On two occasions, it moved a tiny amount before stopping again. There are no fault codes showing up. The other wing mirror works fine, via the same adjustment knob. Can someone please guide me on how to diagnose what might be the problem? I don't know if it is wiring, the motor in the wing mirror itself, or something else completely. I'm good at most things car wise, except electrics! All other electrics work fine. Thanks! Sammy

  4. Hey, I have it written down but I'm at work atm. The bolts came out easily and the arb was moving freely, I just cannot separate the two halves of the clamp to remove them and replace the bushes.
  5. I've done 2000 miles now. The oil level is now on the high mark on the dip stick. Mind you I think the previous owner slightly overfilled it as it was 5mm above the high mark.
  6. Hello Miley, First problem first:- what is the (cleaned up sufficiently to measure) dia. of your ARB? Believe it could be either 18mm or 21mm. Getting old ones out? Um! - splined fixings! - you will end up having to drill them out, and refit the new ones using suitable bolts and nuts. Dependent on what size your bar is, I might have a new and unused ‘bought the wrong size’ set here. I will have to check what diameter bar this set is for. Kind regards, Gareth.
  7. My previous BMW had brake wear sensors, does the Audi A1 1.4 (2016) have these as well? Thanks,
  8. For reference, this is what they look like, can't purchase these as they're part of a arb kit and the kit is £400 and for a tiguan lol
  9. Morning all. I have attached a video, hopefully that uploads. I have an Audi a3 sline 2015 1.6 diesel. It’s making a rattling noise from the engine. This doesn’t just happen on start up, it seems to be continuous. Any ideas IMG_3447.mov
  10. Doing some work to the front end of my a3 and encountered a problem with the front anti roll bar clamps. Problem being, they will not come off. They're the type of clamp that has a top and bottom plate surrounding the Bush and bolt in through the subframe. Does anyone know where I can buy new ones so I can give up fighting with them and cut them off.

  12. Hey mate... Yeah next time I plug it in I'll have a look.. You got a link to the thread? The lights I just used a standard headlamp restore kit... It is however started to come back so maybe I didn't do the uv protection properly... I had thought of just laquering them after the sanding stages next time tho...
  13. I dont have it mapped out on an Audi, but I mapped it out on a Seat Alhambra about 12 months ago. Several times it didnt register a full tank fill up.... I took it to Seat each time and they done some sort of Software reset and it worked each time! Well this last time it didnt work, they scratched their heads a little bit and then their beards and their manhoods and then said it needed a full system replacement! They told me they would see what they could do as it was an ongoing problem and they might get the price reduced by 10 - 20% but it would likely still be in the region of €3500 I told them i would have it fixed else where and drove to a small garage where i know there is a little computer genius. He told me to give him 10 mins to have a look at it and see if it was going to take long, 5 mins later he informed me i owed him €200.00 and told me "you will never have this problem again" He was right... 25k later ive not had that problem again!
  14. 48 volt, I believe. is there a 12 volt battery also?
  15. Thanks really useful posts, however I've A4 Avant with the B&O sound system with a subwoofer in the boot and doesn't look like this is an option for me. Have gone with a 3rd party inflator in addition to the one which came with car which is meant not to ruin the tyre/valve when using... not had a flat so far... Annoying though as you can't always inflate with the gloop... would be interested to hear if anyone has managed that and what tyre was used.
  16. Hi does anyone know what this code is all my interior lights have stopped working. I can’t find any fuse for them. Is there other fuses in the car somewhere thanks. It is a Q3 2016 s line.
  17. That sounds bad. Didn't your engine warn you the oil was low? I'm wandering if adding extra oil simply temporarily disguised the issue...
  18. Hi, It is possible that, despite it being tight, it could be at its limit of tension. How does it run, aside from the noise? Mine started the same as yours, and seemed to mostly go away once started. The noise got gradually worse, and louder, and lasted longer, until the balance shaft chain eventually fell off, which stopped the water pump working and caused a breakdown that I needed to be recovered from. I did all the work myself in the end, as I received quotes of 3 or 4 thousand £ at least (no one knew or cared & just didn't want to do it!). One garage charged me £350 just to have a look, mess it up, and tell me what I already knew...! I forgot that around 7 years ago I had the timing chain changed at a garage, which cost £800, and as it turns out, they only changed the 1 main chain, and they caused a blockage on my main oil inlet from the oil pump as they'd used too much sealant to put the chain cover back on...!! There are 3 timing chains on mine, which I replaced myself. I also replaced all the guides and the tensioner. It turns out that I had several issues, which included the chains, guides, tensioner and a knackered inlet camshaft. As I was trying to diagnose the above I also replaced the oil pump (Audi), the water pump (Inna), various sensors (aftermarket), the oil (2 or 3 times, LiquiMoly), the serpentine belt tensioner (aftermarket), the inlet camshaft (aftermarket, but turned out to be the Audi supplier!), all the cam lifters (inlet & outlet, Inna), the charcoal thingy at the back (Audi), the high pressure fuel pump gasket (it was folded on one corner! Audi)), the pcv valve (Audi), the cam cover (eBay), the water thermostats (aftermarket), the cam bridge (removed the filter mesh! Same as camshaft), the 4 ignition coils (aftermarket high end), the camshaft adjuster & magnet (same as camshaft), the crank bolt (Audi), the serpentine belt (aftermarket), the oil level sensor (Audi), and probably something else too I have no doubt. It ended up costing me around £1,500 for all the parts (I bought them from Germany and some from Audi), but I didn't need them all. Although, my engine has run better for the last 2 or so years than it did when I bought it...! I know that's not what you wanted to know, but that's what I did. 😁
  19. I had a problem when I overfilled with adblue from a pump, and the full tank did not register as it had done the previous six times over 3 years. (2016 2.0 TDI). The mileage warning kept ticking down and I was worried the engine might get to the point where it would not restart. My local independent repairer recommended a soft ware fix. This eliminated the adblue messages and apparently I won't ever need to use adblue again. After the modification the stop/start engine function disappeared and I got 30% increase in engine performance. Engine shape warning light came on again after 500 miles, but car is running fine.

  21. Just to close this one out, the radio was faulty. Fortunately Revtronic were able to repair it and problem resolved.
  22. 19th May 2024 We have in the last few months been receiving spam posts on the community. These were not new members, but compromised accounts from members accounts that were set up in the past. However, these were not compromised by our security but from email and password lists bought by spammers to access various accounts across the internet. This is mainly due to users using the same email and password throughout all of their accounts they have. So to iterate that the club has not been compromised / hacked. I have seen this on many forums, blogs, email accounts etc. This even happens on login accounts for companies such as Subway, Costa, Starbucks etc. as well. Many companies now require 2 factor authentication these days to get round this issue. So we have decided to request everyone with accounts that have not logged in for more than 180 days to reset their password. We have not done it for recent regular members yet, however, we will be requiring 2 factor authentication with a question to log in so we can secure your account from spammers posting junk on your behalf. All this is done as a precaution and to prevent annoyance to the community, and of course your security. Thanks
