  3. Hi I hope you bought the three seals as well, radial shaft seal that goes in the slave cylinder, the driveshaft seal for the diff side, you have to take the diff cover off to get at it, then we have the crankshaft seal behind the flywheel and ring gear if thats leaking thats a whole new level, no point in dodging it as it just gets worse and coats the friction plate in engine oil, bit of advice put a bit of plastic over the brake fluid reservoir before !Removed! the lid back on and wrap the end of the pipe in clingfilm when you remove it from the slave cylinder, finally you have to put a bungee on the clutch pedal to stop it falling on the floor, this also stops fluid loss via the master cylinder which iff allowed to travel to the end of the cylinder body will ruin the piston seal so you will need a new one of those as well, I hope you have a four poster to use as the gearbox weighs a ton it took three of us to lift it off of the gearbox jack. Steve.
  4. Unfortunately its not just Audi that seem to be going this way. I have another VAG group car that has electrically operated rear doors. Closing the door a few days ago i heard a ping and got slapped on the sleeve with a broken cable that connects onto the door hinge for opening and closing the door! Ive contacted a couple of places, and quotes on a 2015 car, replacement of said cable is €800 plus parts. Ive asked for parts price, and gotten several (Deep sharp breath intake) Oh im not sure yet, im waiting to see if its just the cable or is it a cable and motor assembly unit together.... its a pretty ridiculous situation that i cant get a price for the CABLE i need without any other part! I dont like dealer prices normally but ive to contact the main dealer tomorrow to see if I can sort something with them!

  6. I've had a look on the forum but I've not yet had the chance to look at the fuel cap recess! I will, soon and get back to you.
  7. Hi everyone im new to this forum hope you can help. MY grandson has an audi a3 2010 1.9 diesel convertible. The electric roof, the passanger front window and the passanger central locking does not work. The only way that I can get it all working OK is to disconnect and reconnect the conector on the passanger A pillar. It all work fine but after several times of operating it all drops again. I then have to do the same thing all over again. Not sure what the problem may be a bad earth. I would be very grateful if someone out there has a solution. Thanks in advance.
  8. Hello Andrew, I would help if you gave us all the necessary information you have from the outset.
  9. Thanks Sofa - very helpful - I have to admit I didn't know you could dispense adblue at garages - but then it's not my car - so I've never had to find out ! Jools

  16. Hello! Of course, it’s a Bank Holiday Monday and we have a long (>250 miles) and the glow plug light starts flashing in the 2008 A6 Le Mans that we bought just a week ago. The car is in semi limp mode and can eventually get to 60mph but I am concerned about doing damage to the car. We are going to stop in Lancaster which appears to have a National Tyres & Auto Care centre which is open. Fingers crossed that they can do a diagnostic. If not, we are wondering if it’s going to damage the engine if we keep on going to the South Coast….
  17. Hi, Regarding my 2019 A7 55 TFSI. I had this strange issue when going to refil yesterday, the fuel nozzle went in fine, but the pump wasnt working so i took it out and tried another one, but the nozzle simply would not push in this time. Tried another petrol station too same issue. (googling this just comes up with some diesel pumps having petrol nozzles, but my car IS petrol!) I got home and had a look inside, it seemed that a metal ring that should be sat around the edge of the plastic door/valve part had popped off and was overlapping the valve itself so it wouldnt move/blocked the nozzle from going further. Its impossible to move it back to the right place due to plastic in the way, but i moved it as far as i could. I then used a plastic nozzle from the boot to see if it was better but still not, so I gave it a bit of a wiggle to see if the nozzle could correct the metal ring further but then the whole anti syphon valve seemed to come loose and fall inwards, i can get a nozzle in now but suspect it will cause me issues refilling being in the way still (not tried). I only have 10 miles of fuel left too. Just to be clear, the METAL door on the tank is fine. This is just the internal plastic valve that seems to have got stuck. Photos attached. Has anyone ever experienced this in any audi? Is removing the valve going to be an easy enough task?
  18. I need some help, I have a 2004 as and the oil filler neck has snapped off the rocker cover, phoned audi they said that part was discontinued back in 2022, I've tried ebay and Facebook no one seems to have 1 available any advice???
  19. It’s lowered approx 25mm on Racingline springs. As for the ride, it’s definitely firmer, I would say it’s bearable in most conditions, however on rough/bumpy country roads it gets a bit annoying (might just be me showing my age though lol) I’m sure with shortened, uprated shocks the ride becomes a bit more compliant, however I’m going to hold out and save up for some bilstein b16’s. Really fancy being able to soften them to my preference.
  20. Nice’ how much is it lowered and how does it ride on the new springs?
  21. Well now, its true, some Audi spares are relatively expensive and some are outrageously expensive. Also true is there is often a supply issue, (not in stock) and despite clicking the (let me know when in stock) link, no stock remains the default situation. I am told by an reliable Audi main dealer that Audi are not the best at releasing parts specifications for aftermarket suppliers. As an Audi owner who won't buy any other manufacturer it is very frustrating. Recently replaced my complete clutch including dual mass flywheel, in my A6 C7 Avant 2016 reg, with gritted teeth off i went to my local main dealer who kindly gave me aprx 10% discount. All directly supplied parts were LUK. But wow, Audi don't make it easy for owners to do their own repairs. Mammoth task to even take the gearbox out. Quotes for the job errrrrrrrrr yes. But a few said (no we can't do) others only offering an estimate with (can't give an exact quote) dealer saying its a two day job. So, overalls on, i got on with it. Time not an issue being retired and not needing the car every day, (bus pass at the ready) Impromised " the special tools" needed. Job done.
  22. Disappointing that Alex is re-visiting the forum, but is not able to react to advice given.
  23. Thanks Avinash, Could you help us by letting us know where you have searched to date. Kind regards, Gareth.
