Thanks for the links Kev. Annoyingly last week I discovered from my mechanic that if I buy any 2.5tdi engine and keep my current injection pump and ECU the car will think the replacement engine is the original and will run. Wish I'd known that a year ago instead of worrying about coding of injection pumps and imobilisers etc. So my simplest option is to find a bau version of the 2.5tdi as this was the last variation of that engine and most refined in theory. Trying to find one with low miles and proven service history, but naturally this is proving difficult.

Just curious 😉

New Member Hello and can you help me with a business idea?
cliffcoggin replied to lcfw's topic in New Members Introductions
Christian. I will not download or open links to unexplained software from total strangers, so would you care to put a precis of this business plan into words please, so that we can decide whether you are spamming the forum? In particular please specify whether money changes hands and who profits from such payments, and what personal data you require from participants. -
Pic 1 for sure

What's the engine code of the A4?

I am reluctantly having to give up my A4. Not many of these left on the road. 134,000 miles on clock. Good runner, just needing a lot of TLC on the bodywork which I don’t have the time or patience for unfortunately. Do we think there would be any enthusiasts interested?

Very good point on age Steve. Kind regards, Gareth.

General Advice A6 All Road BiTDI (C7)
Steve Q replied to AudiA6BiTDIC7's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Sorry Gareth, I was just questioning what the interval would be as it's an 8 year old car, and I thought it's usually 5 years or 120k, but I could be wrong and it could have already been done previously. -
I'd suspect it's a one piece. I'd recommend looking on eBay for A5 door trim.
-
From looking online this spec is very rare. I'd estimate it's worth between 2-3k.

Glad you’re sorted. I don’t think I can agree on the quality being better on the smaller cars in the range. I’ve had pretty much every size of car in the VAG group and it is pretty much pot luck as per other manufacturers. The current A6 seems to be pretty good quality wise. A split seal is just random poor luck and not really that serious, more annoying on a relatively new car.

Hi Sorry it’s been a while since I logged in. They eventually found a very small oil leak from a seal on the drive shaft that was spitting oil onto the turbo. They had to remove the engine to fix it. ive since got rid of the A6 and am driving an A3 instead. I’m just pretty sure Audi make great smaller cars but the quality control in the big ones is just not good enough. declan

Hello Ionut, Declan hasn’t returned to the forum since the date of his last post. I would suggest you send him a PM, and perhaps you could update us on how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
