LED DRL problems

Hi I'm new here I own a sq5 tdi and have problems with the led drls . When the light switch is in the 0 position the drls are on , when I switch to auto they come on but go off as soon as the headlights turn on if I turn to sidelights they don't come on at all really stumped on this one vcds is saying loose connection I've checked everything I can see just wondering define if anybody has had this problem
