SM27 Posted February 13, 2018 Share Posted February 13, 2018 Hi everyone. I've just joined the forums and hope somebody can point me in the right direction. I've been thinking of remapping my A4 2.0T 2006 and there are so many companies. Just looking at a stage 1 remap. So far Celtic tuning is looking good with an increase from 200bhp to 261 bhp. DMS comes recommended from a friend who had their Bmw 335 done. Angel tuning is another. Has anybody used either of these companies? Any other recommendations or things I should watch out for? Steve Q Posted February 15, 2018 Share Posted February 15, 2018 Welcome to the forum Shaz you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Celtic tuning I've heard of but never used them. You could also try Revo as I believe they do remap for vag cars. Never used them either though. Obviously before you get a remap done, make sure your car is in good health because if it's not then you can do more damage long term. SM27 Posted February 15, 2018 Author Share Posted February 15, 2018 Thanks for the tips. Spoke to an Audi mechanic who said the diverter valve can go on the tfsi engines.... regardless of remap. Said the earlier forge versions weren't great so stick to the Audi one. I was surprised with the admiral insurance quote though.... up to 25 % it will be around an extra 18 quid for the year! It just means I'll have to limit the remap to 250bhp.... to stay legal. Celtic tuning said they could do that for me too. Let's hope everything is good after the service. Will keep u updated. That's good of admiral! I'm comparing the various remappers now with their bhp and torque and seeing which is best. Most remappers take the 200bhp and 280nm torque up to 240bhp and 360nm torque. Celtic however do 261bhp and 366nm. Dms do 249bhp and 340nm but they consider themselves to be the best. Now shark do 240bhp but 400nm torque. Is 261bhp and 366nm better than 240bhp and 400nm torque? Or is the 249bhp and 340nm less strain and the best. Any advice welcome!! They have somewhere near lakeside too I believe and have a good rep. I'm split between having 360nm from 280nm. Or going 400nm with shark but considering the extra strain on the car and components given it is a 12 year old car now. Either way I guess there will be noticeable difference from stock. That's the way I was heading tbh. 240ish bhp and 360nm torque....
