Sat Nav Activation?

Hi Ryan,  I have a 2017 A3 sline with Audi connect. It came from new with a 3 month subscription which has been renewed by Audi uk for free for 12 months. If it does not appear in your MMI menu then I don't think you can add it later. It does not activate Sat Nav but allows you to add Google earth overlay to the Nav which looks great. It also gives online content such as news, weather, twitter etc.

I tried to add the Nav to my sons A1 Sline and came across the same problem you are finding. You can get the maps on the SD card easily enough but there is no way around paying Audi to activate the Nav. I understand they plug it in and connect to Germany who then activate it.

I bought him a tomtom.

Sorry

I totally agree. I have had 3 Audi's now and have found a way around many of these things but this is locked down. I had an A4 3.0 TDI Quattro which did not have the Driver Information System, so after some research discovered that all I needed to do was to buy a replacement wiper stalk with the rocker switch on the end and gave to coding to an local Audi specialist. For £35 all functions enabled and the same applies to cruise control.

It seems that many functions are simply disabled unless you are happy to pay crazy prices or specify from new.

Hi Jason, I never bought the card. I saw them on eBay and was tempted but before I bought it I checked with a local Audi specialist and found out about the need to pay an Audi main Stealer to activate the system first.

I made sure when I bought my current A3 that it had Nav to avoid the problem.

I know you can buy better sat nav systems or even phone apps but it is nice to have the Audi system and to be fair have no complaints so far.

Hi just purchased a 2016 A3 2,0 dti sline, according to my Audi, the purchase specs shows it has sat nav installed, my car came with no sd nav card, so i thought it would simply a case of a purchase of a 2016 sd card off eBay, pop it in and off we go, it is`nt,  will not work any ideas???

If it's not activated then it'll have to be plugged in at Audi to have it activated. Audi UK have to plug the car direct into a computer linked to Audi Germany. Be prepared it's not cheap!

Hi guys I have an Audi A1sportback 2015 how do I get Google maps to play on the MMI ?

I don't think you can unless certain options were selected when new. These links support my theory:

I appreciate this first link is for the a3 but the principal is the same.
