Day 18

3319 miles on the A6

Ran the car in as per Audi's guidelines (1000 miles at low Rpms) and then gradually open the rev range abliet sticking within the legal limits of course...... Supersports seats getting more comfortable by the day and everyone liking.....Active cruise control and lane assist a god send on the longer stints....Heads up fantastic especially at night with the nav directions which are easy to follow...

Car pulls like a train (dam now thinking i should have gone for the 320BHP) but joking aside its been fantastic so far and returning early 40 mpgs, the ride with sline  supension and 20" Alloys has been great as worried it might be super crashy bone jarring ride....car corners like its on rails.

So far loving the car......

Julian

PS The night vision has highlighted a couple of incidents and have to say even if its late evening or early morning with this bit of kit the car will highlight you even if hiding behind bushes lol

  • 2 months later...

Hi All,

Hope everyones keeping well and enjoying the fantastic weather we've been enjoying the past couple of months, it's been awhile since I logged in due to my work load and I thought i'd give you a little update on life with the my A6.....

Day 101 - 14751 miles covered....

Lowest MPG = 27MPG (Brecon Beacons and a few other welsh driving roads, great fun)

Best MPG = 54MPG (Eco mode - Val Thorens in France back to  England on 1 fill - 670 miles)

Bits i'm loving

Heads up, Active lane control, Active Cruise Control, Bose Sound System, Super sports seats

The car feels well and truly run in now and each mile has been great fun, As much acceleration as i need and without thinking your at licence losing speeds so thank god for speed limiter alarm... Super sport seats have been really comfortable and still looking like new (i'm not a small chap!), Family and colleagues still saying how much they like and love the look of them..., All the driving aids make life on long journeys so easy.....

Bits i could live without

Night Vision

Its a very cool toy and impresses those who see it for the first time but in all honesty you can spot the dangers before the camera does on any road unless its its perfectly straight and pitch black......those pesky animals never jump out on the straights....they always wait for the apex of the bend!

Most annoying aspect

It needs Adblue every 5000 Miles!!!!!!!!!!, 1st service warning now flashing and required within the next  4000 miles (4 weeks for me so already booked in)

Regards

My 2.0 A6 drinks it like its Happy Hour too - must have put 50 litres in in 25K miles - next service due soon - so will have a word. Not looking forward to being financially raped for the next service though. 38000 miles = Major Service, Gearbox Oil Change, Brake Fluid Change, Aircon service. Had a lovely young lady tell me it would be £1050 - a bargain! TBH I am thinking get the Engine and Gearbox services done by Audi and the rest done by a local "specialist"

Was told there is a Pano roof service in the schedule and if post '16 car then the Aircon service is more as it has "special" gas. If I could wait until March next year then I could save a load as you get the same services for less on cars over 3 years - still trying to work that one out ...
