Second hand A3 recommendations

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am looking for a second hand A3, vintage 2009-2011. My budget is ~£6000. The priority is reliability followed by low insurance and tax. I was thinking 1.6 or 1.9TDI on a 2009 with sub 100k milage.

1. For 2009-2012 vintage, what is the best vintage in terms of reliablity?

2. Which engine is recommended, 1.6, 1.9 or 2.0 TDI or petrol engine? Slight preference for TDI engines.

Thanks

You could get plenty for that. Im looking to sell my Audi A3 2010 black edition, 175bhp model. I've had it valued at 7.5k if you can stretch your budget I can send you specs and pictures. It's full service history, 75k miles, Bose. It does have some modifications but all tasteful and legal.

Veizu remap (circa 200bhp), h&s springs but not much lower then the standard s line and a miltek exhaust system (resonated).

But obviously for 6k you could look at similar models, specs, milage etc.
