Knocking sound on full lock

Featured Replies

Hi
I purchased a B9 A4 (registered November 2015) just over 6 weeks ago.
It was all going well until the other night on locking the wheel to the left I heard a knocking sound (just one knock). If i park up and lock the wheels either direction i do not get any noise but on moving you can hear it. I am not sure is it drive shaft or suspension.  Has this happened to anybody else please?
Thanks

CV joint is my vote

Hello Mike,

Could be the off side drive shaft, but since this car is still under warranty then you should arrange to get it assessed at an Audi dealer as soon as possible. Unusual for arrive shaft to go at that age, so it has to be thoroughly inspected.

Perhaps you could let us know how you get on.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Hi, just back from the Audi garage.  I was told that the engine mount had to be readjusted.

Looks and sounds to be ok now, just over a 2 hour journey home from the garage and no noises etc.

Thanks for the replies
