door closing problem A3 2000 3 door

Featured Replies

Apologies if this has already been covered but this is my first time on a forum and I couldn't find what I needed.

My driver and passenger doors don't close properly.  If they are opened and closed harder they just jump back out.  They need to be pulled further in from inside or pushed bodily from outside.

I have tried adjusting the catch on the body of the car but that didn't work.  It has been suggested that the 'hook' of the door catch has worn down and doesn't connect properly.  Has anyone else had this problem?  If so were you able to rectify it?

I've just noticed something similar on my car.  I'll get back to you when I have a fix!

I had  the same problem. I cannot find a fix but it’s trapped air in the car having no way of getting out, this is why the door jumps back out.

I open the boot lid and shut the doors and then the boot, the boot does not jump back.

not ideal but it works
