2010 a3 rear o/s door lock and e/window not working!

Featured Replies

I had noticed recently that the rear door was not unlocking off the button on the fob or drivers door button, u had to put ur hand in to unlock it! Yesterday it did the same and i noticed the e/window is not working either off the drivers door, so i got out, opened the rear door and tried the actual window button for the door, and the window went down! But will not go back up at all now and the door wont lock-not that that matters as the window is fully down, ANY IDEAS??

Hi Scott its possibly a broken wire,on the drivers door !pull out the rubber boot from the door pillar into the door which holds the electrics harness and look inside for a broken wire, the problem could be either door so look to the rear door also if no joy at the front, hope its this as its a common issue and an easy/inexpensive  fix good luck

Cheers! Only checked inside the rubber boot on the rear door that has the prob today, will check tom! Plugged it in today with no joy on a code error-although the computer wouldnt communicate with the rear right door module, i will maybe try a module if ur idea doesnt come good! Just as well we are on a remote part of the west highlands of scotland......and have had cracking weather as the car has been unlocked with the window down for a week now!

Cheers scotty
