2005 2.0TDI intermittent power loss

Featured Replies

Hello all!  I’m a new member with an old car (2005 A3 Sportback 2.0 TDI SE) that’s just starting to show its age - not bad for 14 yrs old tho’. Main issue is what  appears to be a shift to “limp home mode” which goes away after a switch off and restart. Guess it’s an intermittent sensor problem but would appreciate advice from anyone who’s had the same glitch. Cheers! MickW

Hi Mick

Welcome to the forum.

You will find the people here friendly and helpful

I had a similar issue when I had a 55 reg 2.0TDi A3 and had to switch off the re-set.

Firstly see if you can plug it in and pick up any fault codes.

On mine I replaced my battery and the issue went away.

How old is your battery?

Had that problem yesterday had to change ERG valve
