A3 2.0ltr diesel

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

My son-in-law has a 2004 A3 2.0ltr diesel which has served him very well but for one nagging problem, the throttle body is forever clogging up.

New ones have been fitted and the same thing happens.

Any ideas?

My first look would be at the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve returning high quantities of crud back to the intake side of the engine.

If it is the EGR the next question is why is so much crud getting passed back to induction side. Does it use a lot of engine oil? Does it do a lot of pottering around?
