RNS-E - Phone menu screen.

Featured Replies

Hi guys, looking for a bit of advice and I'm not very technical minded so please bear with me!

I've just bought an 08 A3 requires a lot of internal TLC. It has the RNS-E system and managed to pair my phone with the car. I can use my phone to call, it plays through the speakers and I can use the steering wheel controls to control everything however on the screen when I select the 'Tel' function it says 'Telephone is not installed'. What does this mean and how do I get the phone to pair with the screen instead of manually pressing my phone which defeats the object I guess? There seems to be a bare PCB in the centre armrest which I think might have something to do with it but I'm not 100% sure, looks like it might need an adaptor to connect to this and to the phone but I thought the Bluetooth would eliminate that need?

Any advice will be muchly appreciated 😊
