Phill
Hi all, My partner has a Q3 2.0lt TDI (2017) with around 70k miles on it, and having paid almost £200 to investigate, the Audi garage is now quoting another £683 to fix a small crank seal oil leak. This sounds a huge cost for changing a seal.... even if it is a crank seal... This is also after a £1000 service last week... Honestly, it just seems madness. Any advice? Does this seem right? Magnet
Hello Phill, A £1000 service seems to have a touch of madness about I, unless it included repair/replacing certain components. £680 to renew a crankshaft oil seal (part cost possibly under £10) sounds more reasonable, and probably equates to 5 to 6 hours labour. No too unreasonable when you consider the gearbox is likely to have to come out. Kind regards, Gareth.
