Featured Replies

Hi,

New to the forum and having an issue with the EGR valve on CJCA engine.

Is this the valve and if so has anything removed it or is there any guides on how to?

Thanks

David

Hi David,

Just wondering how you got on with your EGR valve removal. I'm getting an EGR related engine code (P0401) and i would like to take mine off and clean if possible.

Had you any success with yours? Any advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

Patrick

Thanks Gareth

Hi if it aint broke don't fix it, just treat it with a bottle of EGR cleaner every so often or buy a litre of Dipetane and use that in the fuel that will clean the whole system, with regard to the inlet valves don't go anywhere near them as if you dislodge any crud any small particle can stick to the valve seat and kill your engine, if you do get problems with the EGR just replace it in view of the cost they work out pretty cheap as if its the same as the engine in the picture they are a Valeo unit and its the control box that fails.

Steve.

thanks for the advice steve much appreciated i will try the dipetane.no i promise i wont go anywhere near the inlet valves after reading what you've put.thanks also for the advice on the egr my engine is similar cjcb i think.but without the dipstick. kind regards.stephen😉
