Front doors of 2009 A3 not unlocking on fobs

Featured Replies

Neither front door on my 2009 A3 sportback are opening remotely using the fobs.  The driver’s door has to be opened manually using the key and the passenger door opens internally.  Once both have been opened the external handles will open the doors provided it isn’t locked again.
many ideas?

I’ve just ordered a new S4 avant and will be selling the A3. Just need to figure if it’s worthwhile fixing the issue prior to sale or whether to just sell it as is obviously disclosing the issue to the buyer.

all help appreciated!

Hello?

Take it you have renewed the fob batteries.

If so, the there numerous suggested re sync. ing procedures via. Google, which are worth a try, but none worked for me with my ‘spare’ fob.

If they still don’t work via. the above, then if it were mine, I would be taking it around to a local independent and asking for an estimate to reprogramme them. Armed with this quote, you can then decide if it’s worth investing or simply advising potential buyers that it will cost £x to fix.

Kind regards,

Gareth.
