q7 rear indicators

hi, just joined and already need help. car is a q7 from 2007, but it has facelift rear lights on it. i.e. led bulbs. the nearside indicator [left side] has packed up. i know these are sealed units, but surely somebody has sussed how to change the led bulb. buying a complete unit is NOT an option i'm afraid. anybody help please? 🤔

It appears that a replacement unit is the only option.

I have been googling around for quite a while and the results are the same - replacement of whole unit.
