Woodmeister207
Hi I am in the process of changing my clutch but when I passed my car to a friend who’s a mechanic he’s advised he can’t do the work as he needs a specialist tool to do the job does anyone know what this tool would be and where I would be able to source it ? my car is juddering but only intermittently I’ve been advised my clutch plate has worn down one side and even though the clutch is fine for now the only fix is to replace it has anyone else experienced this ? Magnet
Hello ? (Sorry, but you don’t list your name). Until someone comes up with the definitive answer for you :- Special tool? Don’t know, but he wouldn’t be referring to a clutch alignment tool - would he? Could you check and let us know. It’s doubtful he is referring to this, since this would be a ‘tool’ which most most mechanics would have in their tool kit. Judder? Are you intending to replace the (dual mass?) flywheel? If not, it could be false economy. What make clutch kit are you using? Perhaps you could come back to us on all the above. Kind regards, Gareth. audiA4carpet
Hi Also, the following might info help. Mileage, number owners, service history, etc. When does it judder, and under what circumstances. It would be fair to say that the Audi designers have made it as difficult as possible to DIY our cars.

Hi sorry my names paul, I don’t think it’s a standard clutch alignment tool, not sure whether it’s something that it’s additional to make me go back to the manufacturer ive bought an LUK clutch kit from euro car parts which is a perfect replacement I think the car had two previous owners I got it on 33k it’s just under 70k now which is strange for the the clutch to go but previous owners could have rode it I suppose it judders as it reaches the bite and when I pull away it judders and whole the whole car vibrates
