Hi just wondering if anyone can help? I have a B8 A4 and I have bought an update for the sat nav, the issue I am having is that the cd and sd cards don't work. I have tried to insert the CD and sd cards but the cd won't be taken in and its like pushing the sd card against a wall. 

I do have a multi cd player in the glove box and just wondering if the power for cd player has been taken from the mmi unit thus meaning the mmi unit isn't powered. 

Any help would be appreciated.

Is the CD player in the glovebox illuminated? 

If its not excepting discs it's sounds like it's not working. Might be worth removing it and checking the power supply with a multimeter.

Thanks for the reply the multi changer works fine its just the mmi unit that doesn't except disc or sd card. 

I will pull the mmi out again and check the power supply.

How strange. Unless the MMI itself has failed? 

See if you can do a factory reset which I think you can do from the owners manual.

Thats what I am thinking that the mmi has had it. Only thing is that the sat nav at the moment is working just can't update it

 

Bet you could get a replacement on eBay for reasonable money. 

Yes just want to make sure it is the mmi unit before I spend a lot of money on another one.
