Heater fan problems

Hi to all I'm need some advice if possible I've got a 2014 q7 put the heaters on cold turn the fan on full no problem has soon has you turn up the temperature up the fan just cuts out then it will come back on then go off again anybody any ideas please 

Does the fan gradually slow down until it stops or just cut out like flicking a switch?
