How do you go about getting a paper copy of a cars service history from the dealers

Hello Kevin,

Are you talking about print outs for a car you own? If so, this should be simple via. a trip to your local dealer, armed with a copy of the V5 and prof of identity.

If for a car you are interested in buying, this is more difficult I think. If this is the case, are we talking about a car for sale in your locality?

Generally, dealers are reluctant to divulge service history to anyone other than the registered owner, or I guess ‘current keeper’ if the car is currently held on sale by a dealer. If it’s main dealer sale then obviously this should be a problem.

I think you need to give us more detail Kevin.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

It's also had 2 private plates on it aswell..that shouldn't be a problem should it

I don’t see this as an issue, since they are likely to trace it through the VIN.

Repeating :- Just to save you a return journey - V5 and some proof of your identity.

Kind regards,

Gareth.
