Heater not working

Featured Replies

Hello all

I’ve just bought a beautiful 2014 A3 S Line

the only problem is that the heater only blows Luke warm air - everything works otherwise, fans etc

apparently there are no heater recalls?

What could it be? The running temp is good!!! It just doesn’t want to play

Hello Caroline,

Thanks for being in touch.

Unfortunately it would be very difficult to detect the cause of the problem without examining in the car.

However, It would be worth you searching the forum, and I think you will find that (strangely?) some cars seem to suffer from blocked heater matrixes - and this could be your problem. On the other hand it could be an issue with the actual heater control system.

Perhaps you could let us know how you get on.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Thought I’d let you know - looked on internet and found that some people flush them through - took to my local garage and he gave it a go to no avail - but it was indeed the heater matrix that needed replacing and now the heater works like a dream - apparently it’s very common??!! But it’s not a recall
