Audi A6 C7 Right rear indicator lamp error message

Featured Replies

Last couple of weeks i've had an error message saying right rear indicator lamp issue, so far i've changed the bulb and cleaned the contacts, has anybody had the same issue?

Hello Michael,

Thanks for being in touch with the forum.

Daft question - perhaps?
Are there two indicator bulbs per side by any chance? Some manufacturers do that, including brake light bulbs.
OK, if not, then I would be looking at partial fractures of any of the individual wires of the flexible harness section which links from the body into the boot/ tailgate. Favourite place for issues - particularly in cold weather - due to years of flexing bu opening and closing.
Kind regards,

Gareth.

Thanks Gareth my pleasure, there are 2 bulbs in the rear but theres more in the boot lid, i have cleaned the contacts using a small abrasive tool and the indicator bulb, error has changed from indicator light to rear brake light/lamp.
