Petrol Particulate Filter

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone, I'm new on here.

I received my 2021 Audi A4 40TSFI Black Edition a couple of months ago. I had it back at the dealership yesterday because the engine fan has been running on for approximately 5 minutes after the car is turned off even after short journeys for the last couple of weeks which I thought was not normal. It appears however the engine has a Petrol Particulate Filter installed and this is quite normal on the newest models. The guy in the service department didn't seem to know much about it either. Anybody else come across this? It also appears that there is a problem with the Maps not being able to update which will be a two day fix at the dealership because it takes over 7 hours to download? Audi are aware of this issue be haven't put out a fix yet. Apart from that I like the car!

I've not heard of a petrol particulate filter either. This seems like another new idea to cause more mechanical problems for owners and thus big bills.

Glad you like the car.

Thanks, I hadn't either but I believe that its no where near as bad as a DPF from what I have read.
