Bumper part number

Featured Replies

Wife managed to back into a wall😣 Right mess of bumper and outer rear lights. Lamps fitted to boot lid are fine. Trying to source a secondhand bumper. Hers has part number 8K5 807 385 cannot find one of these but lots on 8K5 807  511D which look the same, are they?

Also can one change the LED lamps for normal halogen as again the LED ones are in short supply. I know the plugs between the 2 types differ but if one can fit halogens I can bodge them somehow, or even buy the correct plugs.

And no have not just joined this forum to ask this question as have been a memebr for a year but somewhere along the line all my details were deleted.

Thanks

Hi the LEDs normally have an adapter between the bulbs and the original plugs so if you just remove the adapter it should be plug in and play, if there is no adapter it means the LED bulbs connectors were made as a replicant of the original bulb.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. I tried out yesterday to plug the halogens into where the LEDs were. The halogen glowed for a second then went out. So have managed to order a couple of LED lamps off Ebay to make life easier.

Now the fun with the bumper. My local Audi dealer told me yesterday that the bumper for the car is part number 8K5 807 385 , ÂŁ600 new , so ebay again. Actual smashed bumper is 8K5 807 511D which to my mind looks the

same. Audi do not make it easy with part numbers, so many varying numbers for what look to be the same item.
