I've got a 66 plate A4 avant. Recently the air con is showing as off when the engine is on. When I try to change it to on or eco they are greyed out and I can't select them. 

I can select eco or on when just the ignition is on but I'm not sure if it's actually working.

After a bit of googling it either needs as regas, a new pressure switch or an new compressor.

Anyone else had any similar problems??

Hi I suspect you have a leak in the system as it won't work without gas in it as it won't run the system dry.

Hi I have the same problem did you get yours sorted? 

The condenser had corroded and leaked causing it to stop working.

Audi dealer and Halfords were useless. I got an independent Air con specialist to diagnose it and do the work.

Cost around £500 for diagnosis, fit new condenser and re-gas.

Hi I had that on my other Audi lucky for me it was just a Re gassed then all worked again
