Warning lights and car will not stay running

My 2016 A6 warning lights came on out of nowhere while driving, forcing me to pull over and park. When I parked my car I shut it off and cranked it back up. It started but lights came on and I was not able to shift out of park. Then it started to shut off. I towed it home and did some research. Tested battery and battery is bad. Replaced the battery but still having this issue. I need help

Two things to try first. 

Get the alternator output checked once running. 

Has the new battery been coded to the car?
