Should I scrap it or break for parts?

Featured Replies

Hi was just after your guys' thoughts on whether I should take 600 cash to scrap my Audi A3 2010 1.6 TDI or break it myself and sell the parts? The bodywork is in very good condition, only problem is injectors, spent over 1k on them and only lasted 6 months. Then replaced with tested 2nd hand injectors but no joy so just gave up in the end. Let me know what you would do in my situation please. Thanks

If two sets of injectors have not got the car running, I doubt that injectors were the problem. Why not solve the real problem and have a working car?

So it has been to 3 different garages for a total of 5 months, nobody could figure out what was going on so the last garage suggested it's time I get rid because like you mentioned, it's probably not the injectors (or the wiring loom) and I can't afford to be spending anymore tbh mate spent around 1.2k on injectors and labour etc. not worth it anymore.

OK, so it’s back to a question of should I sell it to WBAC for (around) £600 - cater for it to be lower on inspection, or break for parts?
Break for parts, if you are prepared to remove parts on demand, have the car in bits on the drive or whatever, advertise the parts, the get fed up and ask the local scrappy to come and take it.
No brainier - as the say - in my book. Just take whatever and run.
