Hi get the part number off of the unit then go on ebay probably loads of them as they are probably fitted to lots of models in that year or alternatively find a reconditions in your area and get your one refurbed.

Hello Dale,

I think Steve’s latter suggestion would be my preferred route - worth enquiring with trusted local auto electricians for someone who would rebuild yours. 
Alternatives in this order:-

Secondhand VAG one.

Aftermarket - although these could only give you short trouble free service.

It’s not an electrical fault,the mechanic told me it’s rusty and my pulley will fall off so i defo need a new one.

Just rang around all the local garages near me.Autohause in Chertsey Surrey seems to be the cheapest.At least it should come with a warranty.
