Stabilisation Program Fault

Featured Replies

My A3 appears to have developed an intermittent Stabilisation Program Fault which when it occurs displays the dreaded check engine light, decreases engine power for less than 30 seconds and then returns to normal however the traction light is displayed until I switch off.

I have run an OBD2 diagnostic however that hasnt returned any codes.

Has anyone else had something similar happen ? if so what did the issue turn out to be ?

One possible cause is a dying 12 volt battery. How old is it?

It was at least 6/7 years old, went and bought a new one.

Did you have the new battery coded to the car, and did it solve the problem?

Battery didnt need coding and while it improved the issue it didnt solve it.

Turned out to be an issue with corrosion on one of the ignition coils, done around 300 miles since it was changed and havent had any errors (touch wood).
